Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Sounds like it. No matter how many times we say use original sim someone tries swapping & then gets upset when phone won't unlock.
It may well be urban legend, but why risk it. I will always use the sim that comes "with the phone".

Oh, OK … so it sounds like you should be good with getting an Auto Unlock for one of them anyway. I thought you swapped SIMs from old phones or something. It might not be a problem since they're both new phones and new activations, although it's a bit of an unknown. If they don't unlock automatically, you should still probably get it going with a phone call. A SIM mixup with two new phones is a bit different than using old SIMs from previous plans.
Yup, both are new phones and new activation. Upon further checking in settings, I see both phones are linked with the same SIM card number. So I did swap back on how it should be. Now the bigger thing, I need to go back to WM and ask them to add air time on it and try it back again and see if the sim number gets updated to how it should be

When viewing transactions, mine shows stucked in Approved. But if I take the order number and check order status then it shows Pending remote fulfillment. Yours may be the same
Yes, same for both.

edit: see it incognito, must be enforcing "limit 2" language

Wait … if you don't have any service time, then they're probably not even activated on the network yet. That's what triggers the unlock. As long as they're right when activated on the network, I think it should be all good. But you might also need to give them a call if things don't look right.

This is kind of confusing… if you don't have any airtime, you shouldn't get any reply from the Unlock message. I must be missing something

Yes, no rush to activate if you get it from ST or if you got it from WM with a price override. However, if they it activated in-store, your plan is probably already started.

Man, I think I am confusing every one lol.. time for bed I guess.. let me rephrase again, two iPhones SE, let's call it Phone A (SIM A) and Phone B(SIM B) , tried activating Phone A with Sim A - failed to activate, as it's missing airtime. Tried Phone A with Sim B , worked like a charm. Sim A is still inactive, and as per ST rep, WM has not added airtime. So Sim B is the only active sim and it's working on both phones. Which ever phone I am sending the msg using SIM B, it is sending the unlock date(doesn't matter which phone the sim is in). One strange thing to note, if I go to settings in iPhone, both phone A and B , is showing the SIM B as a linked sim

Thank you for posting that it was available again at Straight Talk. I went to my store and put in several zip codes and it was unavailable everywhere for me. It was out of stock all day at Straight Talk for me too. I finally got one at Straight Talk!
