Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Wrong. You cannot jailbreak a a15 chip device. And they will be shipped with iOS 16 or newer system.
That sucks

Fun

Still pending here on 2 ordered yesterday early morning.

Some reported tracking. Guess I'll wait and see on my order.

Yeah, I dont effen get it. Many of us who ordered early are stuck in limbo yet people who order hours if not a day after are getting shipped. Thats f'ckd. If orders are not eligible b/c of the $35 plan that is there fault b/c they offered it on the site. They even offered the option to skip adding a plan. No extra browser tabs needed, no tricks.... just straight ordering

the unlocking policy is at least 1 year of service @35/month
false. it's 60 days after activation, regardless of the 2nd month of paid service.

It would be nice if they at least notified you of the cancellation, my orders are stuck in limbo

Yeah. I would be surprised if the other order I have ships. If I had to guess, they have all been routed to some special queue and they are slowly going through and canceling them.

From what I remember for the iphone 11 they didn't notify either. You had to find out on the website or check the tracking.

And it was either chargeback or wait a month for them to suddenly refund your money. If you chargeback Tracfone will put you on their list.

True, that deal was a mess. However, there have also been a bunch of similar deals where orders just slowly filtered out and people waited a few days average, but up to about two weeks and then orders finally shipped. I think most all of my orders regardless of new or refurb took several days to ship and were received in just under a week total. Also, most cancellations except for that particular thread weren't a big deal … usually credited a few days after cancellation. I wouldn't assume mass cancellations yet, although obviously there have been some.

I tried to contact them, they basically said just be patient, give it a few days - my orders show pending remote fulfillment

I can understand them canceling orders with no plan but the ones with the $35 plan should not be cancelled due to the fact that their website allowed it and it is only a difference of $10

Are phones purchased from Straight talk website also unlocked in 60 days? Their website seems to say 12 months unless activated on Verizon
