Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

you mean the old rsim13 or we are still waiting to the newer rsim revision?

btw, just got the "cha ching" from the cashback site. eventhough nothing is shipped yet.
They almost immediately cha ching you but they can take it back. It is all readjusted later when the check is sent months later. It is like when somebody buys something and later cancels or makes a return as it will be readjusted.

FWIW I had straight talk years ago and customer service was horrid. They'll probably be one of the first cell phone company to be taken over by robots.

So now that the offer is only valid with a silver phone plan.. does anyone know if I order as a new customer if the plan is a separate voucher code? Thinking I can just sell it?

For everyone who purchased on first day without a plan or purchased the $35 plan, ST will never ship your products or call back then later. What you should do is opening a dispute with them. Don't wait ST to refund you cuz it will cost over a month. If we open a dispute, bank will not only cancel the transaction also fine ST for at least $25 and when enough people open the dispute, ST will be banned from the bank.

If you get your order just don't return it. That's easy.

You could activate the plan using the link they usually send or the IMEI form their shipped message, but there is ZERO point in doing so. It's not like they're going to ship the phone back out to you after recalling it … and anyone who thinks they're going to argue and get their reps to give it to you has no clue about dealing with them.

If you actually receive the phone, they don't kill the service part … it's just whether you actually receive it that's the question.

Just wait for your refund. You tried to scam them with a bug in their system. We all knew a plan was required for the deal. It was going to be like the walmart deal. I tried with no plan and I got "out of stock" after submitting payment. I moved on and decided to buy it with the plan.

Straight talk isn't the first company to cancel an order.

Boycotting and lawsuits are funny from people who tried to cheat with a bug in the system.

The fraud department wants the phone back. You want to sell the phone, or wait 60 days for it to unlock. Go into your account and sign up for the 35 dollar plan for a month, cheap insurance to prevent fraud department from blacklisting the IMEI.

Wdym? I have a plan just not $45 plan. That doesn't mean they could cancel the order whatever they want.

The shit show is unprecedented. And even people here support them.

Will these work on Verizon on day 1? Or should I wait until it gets unlocked in 60 days?

this is tooo much......

return to sender requested .....and then the next status is "out for delivery"

does it mean out for delivery to me or to sender ...

another order with plan --- out for delivery

it seems like 3 of my orders are going to be delivered to me as per the status...even though two of them had "return to sender requested"

so it is a suspense thriller movie until it is delivered to me or sender
literal dogshit company

I don't think this is the way to go. This is how you get blacklisted from ST.
My plan is to give it a few days and call them. Argue to either ship phone or refund.

Lots of orders like this have gone through in previous threads. The only thing you really do with a chargeback is guarantee that you won't get the deal. The refunds also aren't generally a problem … it was just one particular deal thread where it turned into a hassle and took a month for them to go through. It frequently takes them a week or two for some deals to go out … it's just the way it works with them.
