Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

The fraud department wants the phone back. You want to sell the phone, or wait 60 days for it to unlock. Go into your account and sign up for the 30 dollar plan for a month, cheap insurance to prevent fraud department from blacklisting the IMEI.
They don't blacklist the IMEI over it … others have gotten phones that were supposed to be recalled in the past and activated them fine. And if there was an atttempt to blacklist the phone, it's not like the fact that it's been activated would have any affect on that whatsoever.

I don't think this is the way to go. This is how you get blacklisted from ST.
My plan is to give it a few days and call them. Argue to either ship phone or refund.
Agree, I was able to do a Family plan with 4 phones that lowered the average cost of the one month service to around 30 per phone. A pleasant phone call might work if something goes awry, if not, on to the next deal.

Congrats. I think you're the first to have a no plan phone in handApplause
Thanks! I thought for sure it would be recalled this morning. My UPS guy usually delivers late afternoon, so I figured it would probably be recalled. Fortunately today he delivered in the morning. Now I need to figure out how to activate the phone. Others have mentioned using the Tracfone $10 plan. Any other recommendations?

For everyone who purchased on first day without a plan or purchased the $35 plan, ST will never ship your products or call back then later. What you should do is opening a dispute with them. Don't wait ST to refund you cuz it will cost over a month. If we open a dispute, bank will not only cancel the transaction also fine ST for at least $25 and when enough people open the dispute, ST will be banned from the bank.
Considering the graphic and website literally said just with a service plan I don't see how that could be the case. They added the $45 plan detail on the Straight talk website later. Walmarts website graphic still just makes reference to you having to activate with a service plan.

No worries, doubt the UPS driver will deliver the phone. When he does the final scan, he should notice the return to sender request

Lots of orders like this have gone through in previous threads. The only thing you really do with a chargeback is guarantee that you won't get the deal. The refunds also aren't generally a problem … it was just one particular deal thread where it turned into a hassle and took a month for them to go through. It frequently takes them a week or two for some deals to go out … it's just the way it works with them.
If you have multiple card and different address, you can easily participate in deals like this in the future.

ST's parent company is famous for denying releasing refund even they cancel your order. Some people never get refund until they start a dispute.

So now that the offer is only valid with a silver phone plan.. does anyone know if I order as a new customer if the plan is a separate voucher code? Thinking I can just sell it?
Go to a WM store as they allow the $35. plan. Got one yesterday in N. Cal and they had about 10+ phones.

If you get the phones with no plan, it's probably cheaper to activate them on Tracfone with their $10 plan.

What are the steps once we get the phone from ST?

Activate the phone.
text for unlock date.
Use phone as needed.
Do not pay for next month.

Phone will unlock in 60 days.

Anything else?

Wdym? I have a plan just not $45 plan. That doesn't mean they could cancel the order whatever they want.

The shit show is unprecedented. And even people here support them.
They want you to buy the plan from them that fulfills the requirement. $35 plan at walmart or $45 plan at straight talk website.

Just abide by their terms.

If you already have an active straight talk line and you want to find a loophole to flipping unlocked iphones on ebay, it may not work. A new line needs to be activated. Just abide by the rules. Paying $84 or $94 is a good deal.

Even if one got a locked straight talk phone with no plan for $49, it is going to be locked straight talk iphone se 2022. The value isn't going to be that high especially with the flooded locked/unlocked iphones, ebay/paypal/shipping fees. I think some flippers are overestimating their profit. Straight Talk will continue to put out sales too like Xmas sale. Flippers could be setting themselves up for disappointment.

Once the box is open, it is used to me. I don't want to hear from eBay seller that it is brand new open box just to unlock. How do we know it wasn't some used iPhone se 2022 that was used for a year and thrown in a box?

There's simply no point in disputing this early. Loads of people have ended up getting their orders after a week or two. If there's a problem down the road, that's when to file a dispute. I don't know why people even bother placing orders with them in the first place if they can't give it at least a week or so. It's well known that's how it works with them.

The Fraud department did not request return of the phone, correct. If so, you may be able to wait 60 days and it will unlock on its own. The safest bet is to use the included sim and activate with Straight Talk for one month on the cheapest plan.

Agree you can call and request a rebrand to Tracfone. However, I am going to take the route I know will work and just leave it on Straight Talk for a month and wait for the phone to show sim unrestricted.
