Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Anyone see the update on the page that reads in store for $49 starting Sunday?
Quote from oregon14 :
Been mentioned twice earlier today. Not sure what's different from previous deal few days ago - if store can't activate because no phone rep the customer is stuck.
Quote from oregon14 :
Where do I say Sunday? Post you quoted doesn't mention a day.
The post you replied to said Sunday and you replied it's been mentioned twice earlier. I didn't see your earlier posts so was hoping to get more info. This thread is moving too quickly to keep up.

Seems Tracfone is remote deactivating phones for those that weren't able to be recalled

Black se3 is available with silver plan on the ST website.

Ordered two in one order since my original two orders of one phone each are struck in "Pending Remote Fullflment" status and likely will not be shipped. Hopefully these will ship.

Agreed, thread is out of control. It's Friday but like previous deal in stores it may be difficult to get activated if your store doesn't have a phone kiosk.

Yep … some people ran into that in the last ST thread a few months ago as well. One of mine activated fine online but I had to give them a call for the other one.

Good for you! BTW how did you check the manufactured date based on serial number? I thought starting 2021 or 22, apple started to randomize serial numbers.
Serial numbers of recent Apple devices are randomized but the parts (inside) are not.

The question here would be is it worth it to save a few $ in case it doesn't work?
There's a reason longtime Tracfone/Straight Talk users always say YMMV - what works for some doesn't always work for others.
OK, it's just for "research purpose" to understand how this system work. Actually the fun for me from these deals is not just only saving money, but also playing the rule and finding the loophole...

Mine does too, still. And I ordered pretty much as soon as the online deal was originally posted.

I'm in the same boat.

This is scammy and sus of TF to fulfill newer orders and not older orders (to benefit them financially) and to effectively change their pricing/offer retroactively. I will not support TF ever in the future but will look for and capitalize on any of their loss-leading promos (like this was supposed to be).

Same. I only ordered one though despite the $30 extra discount, dont want to end up with 4 phones in case they all ship

I agree with this 100% . It is very scummy for them not to ship orders that there website allowed for a measly $10 plan difference especially when you could get the deal at Wally world for that price. And there recalling UPS packages is crazy - must be douchebags running the company. I hope the carriers dont refund the shipping fees and then they end up losing money anyway
