Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Add another one to the $45 Silver plan order recall list. Just a single order placed 10/7 early AM. Seems like they wait until the phone is on the truck for delivery before the request for return comes through. Not sure why they made this available online if they're just canceling most the orders.

Called their crack customer service team and had the charge refunded. Once it left pending status to fully charged with no shipment, I called.

I ordered one on the 7th, was supposed to deliver today but the package has the tracking status as "returned" to the sender by UPS? I called Straight Talk and it said they still have the status as shipped. WTF am I supposed to do now? File a claim?
Call them. Tell them to refund the charge like I did.

broke down and re-ordered one with plan (still no update on the original order without plan from early day 1, obviously not coming). lets see if they ship this one while sitting on the previous order.

i guess they dont have capability to sift thru the day 1 orders (before they fixed system). so just recall anything before that cutoff time. some might slip thru.

The fraud department has determined you are a scammer. Open an inventory window in incognito mode. Log in to your account in a different window. When there is inventory, try and have the order resent using chat. The fraud department may yet still block the order. In that case, play the long game, do nothing and wait for Black Friday next year. You can also go to Walmart and battle for the phones. Just be sure to make multiple email accounts "before" you go to the store, that you can give the associate when purchasing the phone.

Patience is a virtua. I bought it yesterday. Am I supposed to have the phone in my hand the next day? They are being bombarded with a billion orders and the staff isn't ready to weed through all the orders in a day. It will naturally take a longer time. A person should give them a reasonable amount of time.

If they cancel my order and refund me, who cares? I am made whole. Oh well. It is a $49+45 deal. I will survive with the dozen other phones that I have. It isn't like I spent a $1000 on a phone.

My guess is...

Pending Remote Fulfillment = UPS Flipper Phone Recall

No bro. It is happening to people who just order one or two phones.

I have done that in the past. On one occasion the phone was put in the system as BYOP and the phone was unable to be unlocked. I am not an expert, I only do this every Black Friday. It is important to you to get the phone unlocked? Do you know you only want to use it on Tracfone? Do you want to make sure the Tracfone service is not suddenly stopped?

My goal is to have the phone unlocked w/i 60 days. Also, the unlock text date may be unreliable on phones switched to Tracfone. The only way to find out is to wait or see sim unrestricted on the phone.
I had TW iPhones incorrectly activated as BYOP (instead of "rebranding") in the past. Those iPhones are locked to TF/TW/ST *forever*.

Only time will tell if my SE3 will unlock without issue on Day 61. If it does, that's great. If not, the SE3 will remain on my TF line. I doubt TF unlock department will even process the request without a valid TF order. Those intend to activate on TF, proceed with caution.

I'm counting my lucky star as I had one order cancelled like everyone else.

Thats what I did last night. But no orders have shipped yet. What a ridiculous company. Maybe I should have done the IPhone 13 deal but thats a headache too and I dont want to another deal to have this one sorted out

the person you are replying to is a troll, been following most of the chat, when I can I upvote you and downvote him/her but I like to use the traditional version of slickdeals which doesnt allow that - I purposely switch to redesign mode just to downvote the knucklehead

I think some just want it for trade in. And if that's their goal, doesn't matter if it's unlocked or not and they will save $50.
I guess. I buy phones that I always intend to use. I don't buy phones just to flip or just solely the purpose of tradein. I trade in old iphones when I get a good tradein value but they are definitely used. For $84-94, I still think it is a very solid to get an iphone se 2022 with a monthly plan. The phone is being sold for like a 80% off. Someone will say it isn't really a $400 phone but it is sold for $430 unlocked at best buy now. Lets throw straight talk some credit for putting out a good deal and let them make a little profit with a plan. If I am getting a great deal, I am getting a great deal. I don't want to be a big scrooge and try to squeeze them. If people want future good deals again, don't try to scam/skim/squeeze/nickel & dime from a monthly plan. I am looking at the overall deal $84-94 for a phone with a monthly plan. Great deal.

Screw it, I just ordered another one with the $45 plan. The one I bought on Monday still shows Pending remote fulfillment. Hopefully one ships. How do you cancel an order at ST?

does walmart charge tax on the pre-discount total? Because ST online seems to only charge tax on the final cost.
