Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

They gave me a long receipt, would it be on there?
The pin will surely not be on the receipt but it should show that you paid for the plan. Walmart should give you another plan card for your troubles. But I would suggest you do as SlySol suggests before going back to Walmart.

Ok so set up the account with the email i gave them in store, forgot pasword, and reset. Now the Account page has no record of the phone, and my receipt has no 15 digit pin. I'll need to go later when i drop off my daughter for dance. If thats doesnt work, cant i just activate with a $15 60 day? i dont intend on using it with ST

You may want to try just walking through the online activation process on their website first. Giving you a PIN isn't always done with these deals, as they can associate the plan you purchased with your IMEI so that it shows up automatically when the phone is activated. If that's the case, you should be able to walk through the activation process without being prompted for payment.

And it's also possible the employee didn't activate correctly, might try calling the store.

tried online activate, goes to a point where it asks you to add pruchase plan, or pin if you purchased already

Has anyone used a TF sim kit to activate this phone on an existing TF line? I'd like to save the ST 1-month plan for later usage in a different device. TIA.

Yeah, that's definitely true … but I'm never a fan of calling someone who will probably have no clue until there's nothing else left for me to try on my own. That's probably what it will come down to, but man I dread those calls. Smilie

From what I was told they supposed to provide you a printout of the service pin. I'm in the SOL part where I wasn't provided the printout and I bought the phone while travel for work. Didn't put in the sim until I got home and it wasn't fully activated. The Walmart is 3 hours away and I can't get a hold of Electronic dept for my dear life. Walmart Cell person near me tells me their WARP system won't be able to retrieve the info for me. So head back to your Walmart if you can.
So if i walk back, and tell them to look up their Warp from earlier today, they should be able to print out my Pin?

You can definitely do an activate on tracfone and purchase the $15 plan. That's what I did using esim instead of physical. Spent $15 more than what I was intended but I won't be making it back to that Walmart and ST didn't help even though I have receipt to show I purchased the plan.

Here's the status for the three orders I made on the website:

Order 1, Monday AM: 2 phones with the $35 plan, still pending remote fulfillment. Credit card was actually charged sometime yesterday, it seems.

Order 2, Monday AM: 2 phones with the $35 plan (different address and CC as order 1), cancelled by ST a few hours later. Pending CC charge was removed.

Order 3, Monday PM: 1 phone with the $45 plan, same address and CC as order #2, arrived yesterday and activated.

Here's hoping that order #1 being charged actually means they will be shipping, I'm planning on keeping one phone as a backup and giving the other two to family members with iPhones 7/8

The sooner the better because I think they supposed to file that documents for the transaction I guess. Or raise hell with dept manager to give you another service plan card because you have it on your receipt. Goodluck
