Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Don't believe those hours, it's very random. They come and go as they like and may never even show up. It's like you won the lottery when you go there and see them.

I ordered a phone without plan on Monday morning. I contacted st today via a phone call. A st representative checked a different system internally, and said the order was cancelled on Monday (one hour after my order) and early today the payment has been reversed. They said wait until tonight to see any refund shown in my account. The reason of the cancellation is because of shortage of the device. However, the st order status page still shows "Pending remote fulfillment". They said st order status page has some delay compared with their internal system. Hope I would get the refund soon.
I hope the rep was telling you the truth! Now that the "online game" is over, they should have the human resources to process refunds for those early orders they have no plan to fulfill. But I wouldn't count on it - if you've ever dealt with Tracfone brands, you should already know what a crappy business they're running. This fiasco, the iPhone 11 mess, not honoring referral rewards, putting out "Wheel of Misfortune" and "Scratch to Suffer", etc., etc. I swear during the check-out process on Monday, I saw something like "you will not be charged until your order is shipped". But they still charged us! I don't understand why they haven't learned from the past - they should have done pre authorizations on all orders.

My 11/7 order with 1 phone on $45 plan was delivered last night.
Credit card was charged.
Used p0tempkin's instructions to activate & it went very smoothly (repped!)
Unlock should happen on 1/9/24

My 11/6 order with 1 phone on $35 plan is still in limbo. My credit card has been charged.
I called ST multiple times to try to cancel this order. One rep finally said to refuse order when it arrives. I will initiate the chargeback on my credit card today.
You cant charge back/dispute when it's pending so best to refuse it and wait to see if st refunds if not then by that time cc transaction should be able to dispute.

I ordered it online on Wednesday 8th and it has the "pending remote fullfilment" status.

Today I went to Walmart to check because I had a feeling that it would be in-stock when I saw that "Friday 6am" part. It felt like that these stores got a bulk shipment to sell on "Friday 6am". A few days ago, all the local walmarts around me was showing being out of stock. I bought it at Walmart.

In NY, I was charged $15 in tax with the phone and $35 plan. With my online purchase from straight talk, it was $10 in tax and that came with the $45 plan. It is almost a wash in price comparison but you do get unlimited data with the $45 plan over the $35 plan (10GB data).

I already had the iphone SE (4" screen) and the iphone 6, 6s, SE 2020 with the 4.7" screens so I pretty much know what I am getting in terms of screen size and battery life and understand its other pros and cons. If they do ship my first order from online, I will keep one phone and put the other into a trade-in. My intention was never to flip or trade-in. I want to use it for the apple se 2022 benefits which is the form factor (portability and comfort factor) and to "disconnect" a bit more. The big screen phones are more enjoyable and easier to type but it is also good to disconnect and not spend so much time online. I also have an ipad and samsung tablet so I do grab those at home more.

Straight talk charged my credit card but did not ship the iPhone. It can cancel the order but it should not charge my credit card without shipment. ST is totally a scam company.

Got one from walmart but the rep insisted on $55 plan with the phone. I asked where it is stated the plan should be $55. He asked another employee and he said $45 plan.

He looked like a third party employee.

I got one with $45 plan. The guy also said it was locked to straight talk for one year.

I did not tell him it is 60 days. The guys at phone section are uninformed and scammy.

After activating the new phone I sent the message unlock to 611611. I didn't get the date but got a link about policy. Did I miss any step?

Got back from Walmart they had plenty of them. Also the 2 per customer they didn't know anything about that. I asked for 2 but probably could've bought 4 or more, just wanted some extra phones.
They have to ring them up separately anyway. Would allow 2 on 1 transaction.

Just picked one up in store with the $35 plan for a total of $84 + tax. The straight talk (i.e. "Premium") employee seemed pretty lost, but a more senior looking employee nearby helped out. It took 20 mins in the end and they just asked for an ID, first and last name, and email address. I think with a better trained employee it should take 5 min.

Haven't taken the phone out yet, but according to the print out, it's already activated.

My recommendation: call the local store, navigate to the electronics section on the phone tree, and as if 1) the Premium team is working, since sometimes they aren't around, and 2) if the iPhone SE is in stock. If both are true, head on over!

T-Mobiles deals do. They give you $830 for it towards some of the fancier phones (including iPhone 15).
