Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Gone are the days of free phones/service.
It was so sweet with TracFone because I would actually hit like 4500 points on that wheel. I really liked their app and user interface. It worked well.

I am actually a straight talk home phone plan user for years. I have been using them for years. I have used TracFone for many years as well. TracFone customer service have been very good for me. This phone deal is the first time I ever used a straight talk phone.

I also had a good experience: Delivered yesterday from ST; two phones on a single order, each with $45 plan (but second phone's was discounted to $35). Activated easily by telephone since ST activation website didn't work. Both working and showing 1/10/24 unlock.

Only wish I could have gotten a red.
same here. got 2 blacks. red was better but the case will help. saw a box sitting at frontdoor from work. not sure if they shipped 2 or 1. dont have a chance to check yet. now i have to worry about the extra $200 on the next bill Smilie could have gotten the extra 5% from paypal chase but couldnt find paypal check out on mobile version.

I've bought both ST & TW phones before but always activated on TF.
ST service is expensive & more than I need, use Google Voice & I'm on WiFi most of the time.

Hello! Is this deal available online? There are 2700 comments and quickly glancing through shows people are ordering online? How can I do that? The ST website is showing $149 and saying the $49 price is only if you activate in store.

Also, how long after purchase do you need to have service for it to unlock? Can I put just 1 month of service on it (the initial month) and then not pay the subsequent months?

Why does the rep in Walmart asks for a phone number? I bought two and had to provide 2 emails. Is this email used for online ST portal? I was able to activate my phone without creating an account with ST. I just used my apple account and just tested it by calling and texting and then find out when it will unlock etc.

Tommorrow when I go to buy 2 more phones, not sure if I can use the same emails or I have to provide different one for each account which I only move the dot around on gmail.

Right now I am typing on my iPhone SE 2022. It seems to have only the mobile view option with chrome on slickdeal site. Even when I choose desktop view, it remains to be mobile view. I usually use the desktop view so I can see more deals, give thumbs down/up and receive reply notifications. It seems to be a nerfed experience with mobile view. I am actually typing much better than I expected though on a 4.7" screen. I use chrome. I will download the slickdeal app and see if it is better user experience than chrome mobile view.

* I see more deals with the Slickdeal app. It looks to be more polished user experience right now. Not sure if it will use less data and less battery than chrome. I know chrome with slickdeal site does use quite a bit of data. The app may save data. With a small battery, every save battery tip helps. If I am using the iPhone SE 2022, I am definitely using the app over chrome.

* I got a Samsung Galaxy A54 with the chrome slickdeal site (desktop view) and apple iPhone SE (mobile view and slickdeal app) side by side. It is what it is. Trying to make the best with a small screen. I guess it is "impossible" to comfortably use desktop view on a 4.7" screen.

Hello! Yes, in store only now. Earlier we were able to get it from straight talk's direct website (not Walmart.com).

In store you can get it for 49 with a minimum 35 unlimited plan. Yes, you need to activate and use it a bit in the first month, keep SIM card in, and not even renew the second month to have it be unlocked after 60 days. Just don't take the SIM card out before 61-62 days, and turn off auto renewal when buying if they make you sign up so you don't pay for the extra month by accident.

Thank you so much for the quick reply Shajeel! I'm going to head over to my closest Walmart store - looks like the the images on the product page show the steps with the promotion of $49.- not sure where that one user is saying it would change soon - the promotion is running through 11/26 while the item is in stock. So it shouldn't be a hassle in store! Thanks again!
