Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

A quick question how you reach out to the manager? Called customer service and ask for manager's phone number?
Typically in a retail establishment to talk to the manager, you go in to the store , find an employee that works there (often times there is a established customer service desk, which is a good place to start) and you ask said employee to speak to the manager.

Based on the t-mobile subredit, plenty of people had been buying SE3 from Walmart (at $149 before this deal) to use them (instead of their one or two year old iPhone's) for trade-ins. This ST deal can save them another $50, or $100 if ST hadn't caught their mistake in time and had shipped out those plan-less orders Wink

But the $830 credit only works for Go5G Next or Plus customers. You'll be committed to 24 months' service after the trade-in in order to receive the credit in full. So you're new to T-Mobile, you should research if T-Mobile works better for you than your current carrier. I'm a Go5G+ customer, but I'm not particularly interested in an iPhone 15 and I'm not sure if SE3 will continue to be on the higher tier when 16 comes out next year.
Thanks for explaining the T-mobile trade-in deal.
So as per the deal if a customer committed to 24 months of T-mobile Go5G Next or Plus service customer ends up paying double the cost of the device in 24 months of service and there's literally no deal for the customer. I am not sure it makes any sense at all.
Why not just buy directly with full price and go with prepaid service with ATT, Cricket or Metro? and don't have to deal with any long term commitments?

The online Straight Talk activation wasn't working for me, so I tried it on the Total by Verizon page. I got to the page asking for a "15 digit service plan pin," I then went back to the Straight Talk page, but was presented with the IMEI error. The Straight Talk customer service was able to get this fixed for me after being transferred to the shift supervisor. It took about thirty minutes for them to fix the problem, they asked for the order number, tracking number, IMEI, SIM number, name, and email. After getting off the phone fixing the service issue, I attempted to login into my account online to check that "Auto-refill (auto renew)" was turned off, but couldn't login, and then spent forty-five minutes with customer service fixing that issue. I hope the situation goes better for you.

Oh man… looks like im in for a treat when i call tomorrow… atleast they can fix it sounds like. Have you tried checking the unlock by texting 611611? Hoping that doesn't interfere with unlock.

I have no idea if this is valid but interesting for those that ordered early on maybe?

Consumer protection laws demand reasonable expectation for delivery time. It would normally be 30 days if no delivery time was given. However Straight Talk's website says
1-3's once shipped. Thing is they also state you won't be charged until item is shipped yet they have charged a lot of us with no updates or while saying pending.

That makes it reasonable to assume they should be in the shipping state initiating that 1-3 day window.

So they are borderline committing consumer fraud. Not based on the lack of updates but because they took our money when stating that only happens once shipped.

Are these phones supposed to be new? I just bought one from Walmart today, it was in a sealed box but when I looked in Settings -> Cellular I see a total call time of about 5 hours, last reset back sometime in September. The phone seems in good shape, so no big deal, just had the impression that these were supposed to be new.
My unit Doesn't seem have to any Oleophobic coating. It's unlikely but my conspiracy mind says there might be something different about these sales units.

It doesn't seem like its canceled... My cc was charged.
Yeah, nobody knows what's going on with those orders as a whole and anyone trying to tell you otherwise is lying. Yes, there's a good chance many will be canceled, but there always seem to be exceptions in everything dealing with these guys. Rule number one is never believe anything any of the reps tell you. They're complete idiots for the most part and their systems are often wildly inaccurate. Then on top of that, many seem to say whatever jumps into their head and pass it off as actual knowledge. Half the time, reps will still quote you the 12 month unlocking policy which has been outdated for over a year. Bottom line is that it's pointless to call. You're probably more likely to get complete misinformation than anything helpful out of them. Anyone passing along something heard from them as actual fact hasn't followed these threads very well. At some point it may appear inevitable that they won't ship, but taking over a week really isn't that uncommon for them and many past orders from other threads that people thought would be dead ended up going through. Yeah, it's really crappy but it's happened before with them. I'd say around two weeks is the point where cancellations become more of a foregone conclusion.

kind of fed up at this point. Not sure it is worth more time and effort. I do think if you really want to get the point across you all should hit up Straight Talk on social media. Blow it up with bad press. They use it to try and talk about promo's and how they do great things for customers. How about everyone blows it all up with bad PR until they get their act together. Bring the issues to the light.

I will even link you all their social if it helps.

Edit: Love the downvotes for being one of the people that followed the rules online and hasn't had a phone shipped. Spent 4 hours in a store today and told the Straight Talk phones weren't activating after pacing the store 3 hours. Just trying to get a phone for myself. Not one of the losers trying to flip them to kill the deal for users that will actually use them.
they do not give 2 shits about social. they don't even care about FCC.

You won't get much sympathy from the bootlickers patrolling these Tracfone threads. Your options are to chargeback or wait a month or longer to get a refund.

Check the last 20 pages or so from the iPhone 11 post where the same BS happened

Do i need to include the sim and packet on the box when giving this out? Is it required to activate? If it is, do i just remove my cc info from straight talk, or would i need to report card as lost?
