Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Where do you find the 15 digit service plan pin for the 30 days of prepaid time when you bought it online??
Gotta call ST to sort it out. They should have record of your order.

I purchased the 30 day plan but it still keeps asking for 15 digit code from prepaid time.

I know where the IMEI is but when I'm trying to activate it it says enter CC to pay or enter prepaid 30 day card number or something like that.
If you bought it along with a plan in-store, the phone should be linked to the plan already. The wording on the automated system is confusing, but if you've activated the phone using the IMEI you should be good to go. Pop the SIM in, connect to cell phone service, and make a call to test it.

Thanks for explaining the T-mobile trade-in deal.
So as per the deal if a customer committed to 24 months of T-mobile Go5G Next or Plus service customer ends up paying double the cost of the device in 24 months of service and there's literally no deal for the customer. I am not sure it makes any sense at all.
Why not just buy directly with full price and go with prepaid service with ATT, Cricket or Metro? and don't have to deal with any long term commitments?
Huh? That's not how it works... say if the phone is $830. You trade in this phone and get $830 credit the phone is $0... plus whatever tax was on the phone.

That's not double the cost of the phone.

Who says anything about it unlocked. I rather pay $149 + $15 then have it unlock myself versus meeting up with shady people.

No. The SIM card number is not the 15-digit PIN being asked for.

There is no 15-digit PIN for these phones ordered with a plan thru the ST website.

If the phone does not activate via prompts after giving the IMEI then you must call customer service.

If you are being asked for the 15-digit PIN or to otherwise purchase a plan, you must call customer service.

this. I did the $35 plan when the T&C said nothing about a higher plan needed. I'm going to file a PayPal dispute and get my money back directly from my CC company. Done waiting for these fools.

So I was able to activate my 2nd phone with no issues. Only difference was I called the number before I inserted the sim card and powered on the phone.

Did inserting the sim card and powering on the phone before activating it remove the 30 days of prepaid time I purchased?

I have the phone it is activated and all. This phone should work with ST and Verizon if some other person wants to use it or you sell it before 60 days, taking out your current SIM correct?
