Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

i followed wiki to activate the line saying "no" to "adding to existing account". now my online account does not have info on my 2 lines already activated.
Maybe add for 'new accounts'. Any user can edit the wiki. That would help others.... if you're so inclined.

Check status Thursday and it's still pending remote fulfillment. Did chat and they said 1-3 more days because of delays. I know Fri- Sunday they didn't do anything cause holiday. I'll give them till the end of this week to ship or cancel/refund OR let the charge backs begin.

The iPhones were right there. Okay. Then he tries to convince me to get something else. He said there's a promo starting the next day for iPhone 13s. I said, "No thanks, I just want this one." So he finally sold it to me and the whole process of activating and actually buying the phone took just a few minutes.
I believe they get more commission selling you the big 3 carrier phones and plans. Same thing happened to me. I'm not sure if they get any spiffs on these prepaid phones.

Yeah, Thursday orders rarely seem to make it out the same week. I think two of my orders from previous deals went in on a Thursday and they shipped out the following Tuesday, I believe. And that wasn't on a holiday weekend.

You seem to have misread the policy. It says 12 months for activation on TMo or ATT networks, which is an old clause. They're not activating new phones on TMo or ATT networks any more.

Here's the relevant info these days for TF / ST / Total …

"For all cellphones activated with new TracFone service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically, sixty (60) days after activation."

For phones that were racalled to sender, people usually see a refund in a few days to a week. A call to ST is mostly useless. Just check for the refund and if for some reason you don't see it in a week, do a CC dispute.
thanks, will wait one more wk before disputing

Their reps are completely clueless and won't cancel polices or issue refunds. That's why he told you that to get you off the phone because he's not going to do anything about it on his end, which has been mentioned repeatedly in these threads. Orders which have been canceled or recalled from their end do get refunded, although I'll avoid using a ridiculous term like "always" since I haven't placed "all" the orders they received and logically have no way of knowing what percentage of orders are refunded automatically.

Last time I faced same issue with TF. It never got refunded. I had to dispute and it took 2 months for me to get my money back. Other option is to file FCC complaint.

Sorry, the thread is over 200 pages and I may have missed it but I assume that this price at ST is dead? It shows $99 But when you add it it changes to $149 and the cheapest plan is $45.
Guess it is no longer available on ST. I too see the same thing.

Yep … looks like that was on the infamous iPhone 11 deal. That whole thread was a complete disaster and many people had problems with refunds on that one.
