Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Thanks for sharing that info on trade in value for iPhone 15 . Will try that out 🙏🏻
Beware though, $830 off is only IF you add another line. I'm doing this exact deal, but with a 15 Pro

My 11-8 order of two phones with 45/30 plans went from no status to "Pending remote fulfillment" Saturday to "Shipped" yesterday and just now changed from no information on the UPS tracker to "Label Created." Hopefully they rounded up a couple of phones for me and this is progress.
That's pretty much the same situation as me. Wednesday evening I ordered two phones from the ST website, both with the silver plan and in the same transaction. The order status was Pending payment approval and stayed that way until Thursday when the status changed to nothing. Sometime Friday afternoon the status changed to Pending remote fulfillment. Early Sunday morning it was still Pending remote fulfillment. I was starting to give up hope by then. I even visited my local WM a couple of times as the website was showing that they had inventory but both times they denied having any. However, before noon on Sunday I receive a shipped email. I checked the ST order status page and the status was Shipped. The tracking number given was not recognized by UPS until tonight (it's currently sitting at Label Created). Keeping my fingers crossed that they will be able to ship it out tomorrow.

Yes. When you activate the phone through their online or phone portal, it loads the phone's IMEI into their system as active and also starts the plan countdown. That activation on their end is the key when it comes to both starting your plan timer and the unlock timer. Once you take care of the activation on their end, those timers both start regardless of whether you actually physically turn the phone on or do anything at all with it.
Thank you, you've been so helpful! Now that it looks like I will be getting my phones, would you happen to know what the process is for changing the phones that are associated with each line to phones that don't use physical SIMs (iPhone 13 and newer). I checked the ST website and could only find info on transferring to the e-SIM of the already-bound phone.

What I am planning to do is to wait a couple of months before activating the SE's and the associated Silver plans. But before then I would like to give them to family members so I won't have them physically in my possession when I activate them. These family members would not be using the ST Silver plans that come with the phones, they would just be using them as wi-fi only devices until the phones get unlocked (I don't mind delaying the unlock date). In the meantime I would like to add the ST plans as e-SIMs to my phones and then port over my current phone #'s. I'm assuming this is all possible though I'll probably have to contact customer service.

You kind of lost me with that. I'm about ready to head to bed, so maybe it's just late-night brain fog, lol. It kind of sounds like you want to attempt to use the plans that came with your ST phones with your newer iPhones. But that would effectively get into SIM-swapping territory (even if you use eSIM instead of physical SIMs to accomplish it, as it would re-associate the line / plan with a different IMEI)

Yes that's right, is that allowed with ST? I've only been with T-Mobile and Verizon so maybe I'm making some incorrect assumptions about what is possible. I'll dig around some more and maybe try contacting support tomorrow. Anyways, thanks again and good night!

You have to activate the phones with the SIM card that comes with it. Activate and then give it to them to use as WiFi devices. There is no advantage to not activating immediately.

Did all this, and when I turned on the phone, it says 'SOS only'.

I'm about to dispute with my cc on my 11/6 order. Got charged but stuck in pending remote fulfillment. I know I'll be banned from ST if I dispute. What exactly do they ban? My name, cc and email address? Do they ban my address too?

I think its everything has your name on it. I even use privacy card and ship to another address and still can't buy anything from them.

......does this fall in to Ban categoy even with paypal.

how do we know they banned - doesn't allow to purchase again?

name - cannot be unique.
addr - people stay in aprt will not have same addr

Yikes. I have cell service through Total by Verizon (formerly Total Wireless) and have an order for two iPhone SEs in limbo with status pending remote fulfillment. I certainly don't want to get banned from Total by Verizon and not be able to have cell phone service. Is there no way to get a refund without doing a chargeback?

That's odd, I disputed my iPhone XR I got last year bc it had tons of issues. Was able to order one online and 2 in store. Though the one online I still have not had luck activating it with ST. Says it's not eligible.

Maybe my situation is unique. I did charge back once ( dont remember it was iphone 11 or xr deal) and I also did a lot of tracfone reward points and got many free or low cost iphones from them.
