Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

spent 20 minutes getting bounced around ST's CS reps until I was transferred to the "refund dept". Guy knew what I was calling about, said they have NO mechanism to cancel orders and refund $ once the order is placed. He actually encouraged me to file a charge back and force ST to pay me back.

Talk about a S-show. I'm filing my paypal dispute and closing the book on ST forever. To those who made this work, congrats. Don't give this company any more of your $ !
LOL. So they have a "refund department" which cannot do any refunds?

Correct. I had the same experience as that person did, just now. I asked the same question you did, and I got the same response the other guy got.

For anyone whose account still says "pending remote fulfillment," do not bother calling - you will not get help. Their advice is what you should do, as much as it sucks, and file a chargeback with your card company.

Not that Im pretending to be an expert in law (except perhaps bird law) but isn't that enough reason to hit ST with a class action lawsuit at this point? There's no way a business is allowed NOT to process refunds after internally cancelling or not being able to deliver goods or services paid by a customer

Also who is thumbing down each and every comment here criticizing the way this company is operating?
You may want to stick with bird law.

Yeah, ScottoDono mentioned that he got a similar reply earlier and now sees a pending refund on his CC.
I checked with my credit card company (AMEX) and they said they didn't see any refund for the order placed on 11/6 from Straight Talk. The rep did say it could take up to 7-10 days before they would see the refund request. So at this point, I'll just wait and see what happens.

Maybe filing a BBB complaint?

Reading through their BBB complaints and there's lot of fun stuff there
Don't know if these are true but here's one recent one -

"Agents for tech support very abusive!!! Told me on the phone after being disconnected multiple times that I deserved to be treated as I was and threatening my livelihood. Made it clear he was from a foreign country. Are we allowing straight talk to make threats of violence against Americans cause they dont want to help.??"

You did not buy a phone in this deal, so I am having a hard time understanding why you are so mad.
I bought one from "this deal" and 4 phones from straighttalk.com on 11/6. $213.04 currently held by the racketeers at Tracfone Inc.

I got two phones yesterday from Walmart. Unfortunately I was a dummy and didn't make sure the email addresses were correct. I got a person who knew what she was doing and was super fast, but too fast I guess and made a typo in one of the email addresses. The correct email address one is activated and fine, so I'm guessing the other one is fine too but no way to make an account for that one! Sickw shows it as activated. So should be okay.

That I will, although the way this company is operating they should probably consider selling bird food instead

recently, AT&T only sent me partial accessory order and was told same thing (and had to do). bcos i was not a customer with an account, they couldnt refund me and had me file a chargeback. i dont trust these jokers to be capable of cancelling order and refunding at this point. but i am in no rush so i will give them a few more weeks before chargeback. The phone ordered 4 days later with plan, i just activated and put to hibernation for 60 days (website activation STILL doesnt work)

If you bought it at Walmart, they should have already activated them and you just pop in the SIM. If you ordered online, you may want to try the phone activation mentioned in his post …

Less potential headaches to deal with if you get it in-store, but people have had mixed success, between inventory and getting the deal done.

I ordered 2, one with plan and another one without plan from Nov 06 on Straight Talk. Still pending remote fulfillment. Don't know why.
Same with my Nov 08 order for only one with the $35/mo plan.

I'm wondering if has to do with my previous order 2 years ago from them for a refurb iPhone SE 2020, which I'm still using now. I activated it and then put it away in a drawer for two months. I'm sure that they suspect I'll do the same thing if they finally send me my order. Which I will, lol!
