Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

I spoke to a couple different reps and they are saying different things. One rep said that they don't do cancellation, don't do refunds and won't ship to me because "my credit card purchase needed to be verify" and needed to talk with my bank. I told her that my purchase went fully through on the 10th and bought it on the 8th. She seemed to be pushing me to do a chargeback. I heard that if you do a chargeback, they ban you. I have another phone plan. I don't need to be banned and than they possibly close out that account. The Walmart deal went fine for me but the straight talk has been a mess. I have never ever heard of a company that stated do a chargeback. A chargeback is based on fraud charges. Banning customers is for a customer that receives a product, lies and says that he never received it. You don't ban customers who want a phone that they purchased but would like to cancel and get refund. "We don't do cancellation or refunds.".... Ehhh. I had very good customer experiences with TracFone and straight talk in the past so this is very surprising.

I think the premium wireless guy did something wrong and didn't know how to fix it. He had more phones but I'm concerned about buying them from him.
I would call Walmart corporate. They at least owe you some gift cards.

I need help!

I bought 2 iphone SE's at walmart yesterday. Paid $101 each. The activation didn't work. The premium wireless guy told me to give it a few hours and come back today if it didn't work. Straight talk says they don't see a plan or activation for the phone. I got a refund on the 2 phones for $49/each. But customer service says they can't refund the plan money. Straight talk can't refund it because they say they didn't see it. The premium rep says he doesn't have any way to do it.

I'm out $50/each for the 2 phones and don't have a phone or a plan. What do I do?

I left a note for the manager but I suspect the employee is just going to toss it in the trash.

I called walmart customer service and they weren't able to help either.
TOS is no refunds on plans. No way you get around that. You should not have returned the phones and just had them add the plan. You became too antsy for no reason and returned the phones and now out the money for the plans. No way you get that money back. None.

Nonsense. It's not a case of returning the plans, but rather getting a refund for plans which were never received. I agree that it would probably have been easier to work through the problem with the phones in hand, but Walmart managers are often good about working through things when there was a problem like that. Of course, it may take some time getting the right manager or contact at corporate. Some could issue a refund, some may give a credit through gift cards or they could try to give them phones properly activated as they were supposed to be originally. There are a number of possible solutions that they could offer. And if the phones were returned after being opened, they may still be sitting behind the counter somewhere and a manager could just get someone to work through the activation issue and re-ring them at the sale price.

Credit card charge back. They never delivered the plans?

Im not a pro flipper and my intention was not to flip but damn this phone is small and I have an IPhone 13 on order. Also seems like more deals on the pipeline for BF. I didnt realize you could leave the phone sealed, so like you I guess I sell open box. What do you think selling price is when unlocked? I don't see much profit by checking FB Marketplace
The phone is lighting fast and perfect for a small phone. However, like you, I have been trying to use it and it is just too small. The phone should sell for $239 - $245 (which is 45 percent off of the Apple Store selling price) Sell the phone as mint, unlocked. In the past I sold on Ebay, however someone in the thread suggested Swappa. Don't believe the hype the market will be flooded, this is a great phone and will sell well.

The reason why I won't sell on Swappa is that they use Paypal for payment. Paypal is heavily skewed towards buyers and they can file a complaint about the order and get a refund pretty easily 6 months later. The other thing that I don't like about Swappa is that it is now flooded with pro buyers.

I'm listing the phone now even though locked assuming it won't sell but it cant hurt to keep it listed and just update or relist once it unlocks.

Picked one up at a nearby WalMart. The employee knew immediately what I was there for, knew about the $49 thing, I was in and out in 5 minutes. He was surprised I only wanted one, haha. I like small phones, although the Apple OS is atrocious in design. Will use it to play games on and then probably trade it in at some point. Cheap but good.

For my case, after I insert sim card, power it on, finish some setups, it shows "no service", so I guess that clueless Walmart rep didn't do it right.
i had to restart the phone one more time to get the service. the first initial setup will not get any service on

If you do sell the phone early its locked to the straight talk account its active on. You have go on website and click remove device so it can be activated on different straight talk account.

The wireless guy should be able to lookup the Warp order somehow, and that should have an Airtime PIN attached. It's a 20-something digit number on the second page. Your Walmart receipt has the phone's serial number, so that's got to be searchable.

I bought two phones a few days ago and received printouts with the device details and the activation PINs. One phone was already activated when I powered it on last night. The other one was only in emergency SOS mode.

I went to the StraightTalk website (note: use a PC. Their website is practically unusable in a phone browser). I was able to successfully activate the 2nd phone, although I did have to create an account.

When you activate, it asks your for the IMEI and the PIN. The PIN is the last 15 digits of the number on the printout. I was fortunate that the person that sold me the phones explained that to me. What's unclear is why the first phone was already active, but the second one wasn't Perhaps she was in a hurry, as I caught just as she was clocking out in order to buy the second phone. She was nice enough to stay an extra 10 minutes to take care of me.

I looked on my ST account online and didn't see anywhere to remove a phone at all.

When I did the Walmart deal, everything went smoothly. I got the receipt and the phone worked fine. They never told me the phone number so I just found out myself. When I made the online account, I had to say "Forgot password" and then I created a new password. The phone is really good.

The straight talk website has been a mess. The agents really seem to be clueless and/or pushing canceling. She said we can't cancel and give refunds?! She said it is a "bank issue". The payment went fully through. If straight talk is having regrets on the $49 deal and underestimated the demand, just cancel and give me my refund. Or I would appreciate it if they said we are out of stock and the estimated restock is like 2 weeks. Give me something. What is fishy is that they continue to sell the phone for $99 so out of stock excuse falls flat. It doesn't make sense.
