Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Yeah, there are often some posts that differ in the details. Some users are very cautious and give recommendations based on that. If you use it for a few days, you'll notice if anything weird happens and you lose service or something. But it's not needed and once you activate it on the network, it should be good and many users from previous threads have done just that and put it away after the first day.
You've been very helpful! Thank you kindly.

Hi, does anyone know any other trick to unlock faster? For eg instead of starting the phone with straight talk sim start with other sim ?
The reason I am asking is that Walmart employee was in hurry and allowed me to take the phone without activation. So wondering if there is any alternative before inserting straight talk sim

Your plan is probably already active and counting down unless they messed something up when they added the plan. It starts regardless of whether they physically activate the phone or not. And no, there aren't any shortcuts to unlock with this phone.

$160 trade in value from apple, not worth it. Unless you trade in a handful of them

Thank you!

Yes, it was a little hard to sift through the many replies. Plus I'm very new to the website.

I did try and read the first few pages and came across different opinions. The following post by jetski777 said that I'd need to use it for a few days, but then there was another user on page 7 who said that you could turn it off and put it in the sock drawer. So I was a little confused about if it'll work out for me as I won't spend longer than a few hours and drive back to Canada.
You don't need to use it. Activate it, text 611 UNLOCK to make sure unlock day is 60 days from activation date, and then put it in drawer. Wait 60 days, turn it on and it will still unlock no matter what whether you used it or not. Usually I had to connect to wifi after turning it back on for the unlock to happen.

I've done multiple of these straight talk, tracfone, verizon phone unlocking. They all work the same.

Filed dispute on 11/13. PayPal decided in my favor 11/22.
Ended up buying at Walmart. Scummy company and I don't plan on doing business with them in the future.

I thought with Verizon ownership they might have changed.
Nothing good comes from anything owned by Verizon, If anything, everything gets worse...usually way worse.

Also, buying this from Walmart isn't saving your case. You still bought a Straight Talk iPhone so in the end, you still helped with their business lol

And then what? Resell? Gift? What's the value in having unlocked iPhone SE's? Sorry I'm outta the loop.

Yeah 5 of them gets you $800 which is enough for Iphone 15

if wait can easily sell them $200 each unlocked in 60 days.

Anyone figured out how to trade the with T-Mobile to get $830 off an iPhone 15? Seems Tracfone is not listed as a carrier during the trade in process and it does not recognize the IMEI. Interesting, if you select an iPhone 13, Tracfone IS listed as a carrier. Maybe T-Mobile does not want these cheap SE's traded in...

Looks like Walmart activated the phone. I will keep it in drawer for 60days as I don't plan to use this. Is it advisable to use straight talk sim on different phone while this phone is in drawer? Will it impact unlock?

I usually leave the sim in since these ST devices are tied to the sim once activated. Not sure if it affects unlock, so can't say for sure.

Went to my local Walmart to get a car battery ,
Went to Electronics but they did not have any Iphone SE , and she said probably would not get any as it was a "black Friday " deal ....ummm

its not Friday yet !

Ohh well ......
I picked 1 this evening. An employee did say there was misunderstanding that this is a black Friday deal. He told they may have more devices coming their way tomorrow.
