Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

That is what I figured I was going to have to do but I guess was trying to do it the normal route first. Given everyones poor experiences though I guess the normal route doesn't work most of the time sadly.
Yeah, they're extremely slow with everything and calling seems to be useless for most. Some users have been popping in over the last week and a half or so to report seeing refunds show up and it seems like there have been quite a few of them. They appear to be working through the cancellations slowly as opposed to one mass cancellation. The latest I saw was yesterday for a 11/6 order.

I received a refund for the one purchased by credit card but nothing for the PayPal purchase. Opened a ticket through PayPal and they refunded me.

Went to the local Walmart in St. Augustine, FL today and picked two up from there. T-ROC guy was awesome. Very friendly and knew exactly what he was doing. Said that there was a lady there yesterday tried to buy 10 of them but after they processed the first one, she decided that she was unable to pay for them lol.

I am so tired today. I am planning to go to that store tomorrow, if it doesn't work I will give up. I am anyway planning to trade in for $160 Apple GC, but little scared: can I trade in a device which was never activated on service.i hope it shouldn't be an issue.
I went to store today to fix. OSL guy was not able to pull the order using the system. I helped him to pull. Anyone wants to do the same: go to WARP home screen. Scroll down, click on reports, select the date in next screen then click on search. Then open the order then click on print documents. It prints 3 pages, one of the has airtime pin. That oin has 2 numbers separated by | delimiter. Second one is the pin to use with straight talk customer service. I can see you can't pull these report from another walmart, you have to go to same store where you bought.

Well, I went back to my local Walmart before lunch today. They had an OSL rep there who was super friendly and knowledgeable about the deal. Luckily they had just 2 left so I grabbed them both with the activations on the $35 bronze plan. With the taxes (which I thought were high) each activated phone w/plan came out to $99.33 each.

Popping in the SIMs and activating and getting online was easy as usual. I texted the UNLOCK code (twice) to that 611611 number and then immediately got the message that the phones will automatically unlock on 01-25-2024.

Good deal!!!

Now debating if I should keep them as spares through next year or just go trade them now at T-Mobile for $830 a piece towards iPhone 15's.

Excellent. Glad you got it worked out. I had similar problem on my first purchase but I had not left the parking lot yet.( I recommend calling the activation number before leaving the store) Went back inside and she then printed out the 3rd page. Second purchase from same girl took first two pages to WM register to pay and then went back to warp terminal to print page 3 with the pin. Maybe that final step is what sets the activation in motion because when I called the activation number it replied with "this phone is already activated"

Pretty sure it has to be 3 emails that haven't been used with Straight Talk before - at least that's what I was told by the 2 reps in my store - and they did know what they were doing since mine activated without any issues.

In store is 2 phones per person and each phone needs a separate email address

the limit is 2 phones per person but depends on the store. You should use different emails for each so that you can make an account online with ST but it's not a necessity IF they activate the phone properly. Be sure to get the activation pin printout from the warp terminal. Be sure they are activated by calling the activation phone number and entering the IMEI before you leave the parking lot.

Anyone figured out how to trade the with T-Mobile to get $830 off an iPhone 15? Seems Tracfone is not listed as a carrier during the trade in process and it does not recognize the IMEI. Interesting, if you select an iPhone 13, Tracfone IS listed as a carrier. Maybe T-Mobile does not want these cheap SE's traded in...
Can you select Apple-Generic on the T-Mobile trade-in site? Would that then be the correct selection to use?

Did you try Verizon?

Yes, Verizon and other major carriers do show up on the T-Mobile trade-in site. I was just figuring that if Straight Talk does not, it should not matter and just select Apple-Generic perhaps.
