Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

If you bought them from Walmart, they should have been activated before you even left the store. That was how the deal was supposed to work, so there's a good chance the plans are already expired. On the bright side, they should be close to unlock time by now if that's the case.

So when you log into the ST web portal with the emails you gave them at purchase (should also be on that printout you have), it doesn't show a phone number associated with the line? Or if you go to Settings and type "MyNumber" one doesn't show up there? Or yeah, see what sickw says.

The regular customer service at Walmart won't be helpful on this case. You need to talk to the wireless dept phone person so they can locate your order using your name or email or warp id in their warp system.

The Wireless Guy was horrible. He claimed he had nothing to do with the promotion and that i had a Walmart Reciept so i had a Walmart problem. The first walmart coach that came just kept saying you have to call Walmart.com? Then they literally said "You took the cards and want, free ones, you know we are going to watch the video." Then a Manager came and was less then interested in my issue and told me to talk to Wireless and the Wireless guy just looked at her and said Walmart Problem. Then they began to argue and.....After wasting an hour of my time a guy came and in about two minutes looked at everything took two cards off the shelf and rang them no charge to me and gave me a recipet and said have a nice day.

Ok this is totally unexpected. Way back on November 7, I placed an order for an SE with a $45 plan on the straight talk website. Of course it never shipped and I never got a refund, so on December 7 I opened a dispute with my credit card.

Then outta nowhere today I got a your order has shipped email with UPS tracking. Crazy.

I won't be surprised if it never ships or even if ST has it returned to them if it actually does ship. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Lucky you! My credit card charge was refunded. Though, after reading your post, I checked my order status. It is still in pending remote fulfillment. I only ordered one device. I have given up the hope to get one from the BF deal.

Enjoy yours! and Happy New Year!

If you aren't a thief, you could tell your credit card company you received it.

Most time you don't need to reset the phone. The lock status will change itself. BTW, if 611611 say your phone will be unlocked on 1/8/24, actually based on my experience, it will unlock at 12am 1/7/24 (new york time) You can just use sickw.com to check if it's unlocked.
Yeah 31 days this month 60th day would be on jan 5th for me since count same day for activation text says 6th. I got it first day of the deal November 6th in-store

Can't you confirm the sim lock status just visiting Settings>General>About>Carrier Lock?

5 more days left for me to sell it or trade it in for upgrade. I don't need this phone.

My concern is that the longer to hold on to this phone, the value it loses over time. A gradual amount I supposed.

I don't know about trade-in value but I think it will retain most of it's resale value at least until after SE4 is out when it will seem real dated. Probably will always get your money back though.

True. The frugal or spare phone users will always want this phone hence market opportunity.
