Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Mine is unlocked automatically after 60 days. What are the carriers this phone can work with?
It will work with any carrier in the US and pretty much worldwide as well.

Nothing wrong … some unlocks come through a few days late and that might be all it is. You could try checking their online unlock portal to see if it says eligible or giving them a call, but there have also been a lot of people who got the unlock, just a few days later than expected.
I had same issue as my se had no juice on unlock date now text says unlocked but settings says sim locked.
Edit
Suppose to unlock 1/9
Edit
Requested ATT unlock then popped in an ATT sim now shows unlocked.

Thank you, this is really helpful, So that means as long as StraightTalk account has the phone's IMEI linked to a plan(phone number), then the unlock-countdown starts. After 60 days, even without turning on the actual phone(without activating through Apple for the first time), the unlock status can be verified on sickw.com?
Thank you very much.
Confirmed, device was automatically unlocked at day 60 days without paying addtional month of service or opening the device box at all.

My iPhone se 3 never unlocked after the 60 days (should have unlocked Jan 9th). I contacted Straight Talk, and they told me I must have 60 days of active service to unlock the device. I only paid for the first month. I see others did the same thing and their device unlocked just fine after 60 days without having to pay for 2 months of service. Not sure why this didn't work for me. I even used the phone for awhile during the first 30 days. Frown

Try entering your IMEI at their unlock portal ( http://tfwunlockpolicy.com ) and see if it will let you request an unlock. If that doesn't work, try calling their unlock dept … not the regular CS number. Others have gotten unlocks pushed through, even with expired service. It sometimes takes a few calls though, as their reps can be very hit or miss. Also, try texting UNLOCK to 611611 (twice) and see what it says. If it says it should be already unlocked, let the reps know that also.

OK. I'll try calling port number again as I did call the port number the first time. I also tried rebooting phone and putting in a different Sim card (active US Mobile) rebooting, and then shut down and put Straight Talk Sim card back in and powered on with no change). Shows Sim locked in settings.

Another odd thing is when I text "unlock" to 611611, it say... "welcome our records indicate you are using your own device. If you are experiencing some issue, please contact the manufacturer where you originally purchased the device...." I purchased device from Straight Talk web site with $45 data plan for 30 days.

When I check IMEI on that website I get" We apologize. Your device is not eligible for our Unlocking Program."

Oh, that's probably the problem … sounds like yours got set up as a BYOD phone instead of new when it was activated, which doesn't trigger the unlock.

Call their unlock dept at 888-442-5102, not the porting dept. Explain that you purchased it as a new phone directly from ST, but looks like it was entered as BYOD. And have your IMEI number handy. If you get a clueless rep, just hang up and call back for another one. Don't get hung up trying to bang it into their head if you get a dumb one, as it'll just leave you frustrated. It may take a few calls, but you can usually get one who realizes what's up to take care of it.

Thanks. I called that number and told them what you said above. They asked for my email and said they will submit a request and it can take up to 72 hours for a response to my email. So hopefully that works.

Cool, hopefully they take care of it. If not, I'd call back and start from scratch asking them for the unlock, not even mentioning your previous call or it can just complicate things. Also, I'd call back during more normal hours if a follow-up is needed, as I think at some point late-night, they may switch to reps who just take messages rather than working the tickets themselves.

This iPhone doesn't hold a charge. Dies within few hours of being 100% idle

Not sure . Should I take to Apple Store or something ?

Unlock may not be delivered because phone is dead always ??

Do not store it in the box.

Is this the reason it dies quickly while it is idle? I have encountered this issue and now you have mentioned it, it seems like it only happened for me when the iPhone was left accidentally ON and stored inside its box. It could be that it gets hot and battery gets depleted quickly.

No, it happens because of how tightly it fits in the box. When it's face up or backward in the tray, buttons are constantly being pressed. If you recall, it was face down from the factory. It will kill the battery even if it's shut off.

Bought 2 Iphone Se in Walmart on 11/16/2023, activated, texted 611611 saying both phones were unlocked. But In setting it showed SIM locked.

I removed trackfone SIM, inserted old and unactivated ATT sim. Phones restarted and showed NO SIM RESTRICTIONS.
