I bought a refurbished one with the same specs a month ago for $1399. It came out in Apple-certified, refurbished condition. battery had 2 cycles. I called apple to add 1-year warranty.

You sure that was the 16" with 32GB ram? I haven't seen anything this low for this spec yet.
Love the 32 GB RAM. 512 GB storage might get a little tight. When I bought my 14" 16/512 M1 long ago, I figured I could use the SD card slot for supplemental storage. You can buy micro SD adapters that fit flush in the slot, however, with current cards, speeds are abysmal. The adapter and the SD card slot itself both support the UHS-II standard, but UHS-II micro SD cards still top out at 256 GB (for $200!), and as far as I can tell, there's no word on when, or if, 1 TB UHS-II micro SD cards will be available.
