I just got one of these in the last month. For context, I also have a Miyoo Mini Plus and a Steam Deck. This has definitely been my go to device for PS1 emulation and below. Much more comfortable to hold than the two other devices for retro games. It's not quite pocketable, but it's been an amazing experience at home.
N64, Dreamcast, PSP and DS have all been a decent experience to a degree, though I would look for a more powerful device if those systems are what you are really after.
Decent deal on my current favorite retro gaming handheld. Installed with JelOS. Software runs well

Almost half the phones are iPhones and you cant download emulators for them. Also, they don't run as smooth on many adroid phones because it's using so many apps at once.
Plus, where are the controls on a phone???
Wide screen but misses the opportunity emulate DS/3DS, is there a touchscreen version of this that can run 3DS and maybe at least PS2? This seems weak if it can only go up to PS1.

Apple is too restricted for that, I would get an old Note 8 that has SD storage and great controller options.
Sorry, I'm new to these handheld emulators. Would you guys recommend this, or the other one that gets posted (the one with the original Gameboy form factor)?

As far as I know, Linux handhelds aren't able to emulate PS2 well. If you want to do PS2 well, you would need an Android or Windows machine, and should expect to pay $200+. Devices would include Odin 2, Ayaneo, Loki, or SD/ROG/Lenovo Legion Go.
If you are OK with suboptimal PS2 performance (eg if you are playing turn based games), some devices to consider would be RG405V, RG405M, RG505, PowKiddy X28, Retroid Pocket 3+. Prices after discount from Aliexpress are: RG405V is $91, X28 is $107, RG505 is $110 (has OLED but other issues), RG 405M is $138.

This is less portable. If you want something to put in your pocket, then I would go with the other form factor -- RG35XX, Miyoo Mini Plus, R36s, or XU10 -- all are available for $40-42 currently.
Go to aliexpress.com. Search for rgb30. On the filters on the left, set minimum price to 82, and check the box next to 11.11 sale. Pick the item listed for $82.28, sold by "Powkiddy Official Store". Add to cart. At checkout, enter code AEUS8. Total will be $82.28-$24 = $58.28 + tax. If you get 12% CB, that takes another $7 off to make it $51. If you used AEUS8 already, there are other $8 off $50 codes available such as rakuZen8 (replace the Z with a T).
I just discovered that the powkiddy x55 doesn't charge with normal type c to type c cables and instead requires type c to type a. Absolutely unacceptable in 2023.

An android phone plus a controller is way better if you ask me, or just buy a switch little for $100 more and play decent games. Or buy a series S for 200-250 on sale and play AAA games at high frame rates
