Should be fine although they do get a bit warm. Nothing close to incandescent bulb heat levels, though. If it's an issue, they can be dimmed via app to reduce heat generation I suppose.
I have about 18-20 of these in my home including in enclosed lamps and landscaping line voltage bollards. Some in use for years. Zero issues. 26 other Kasa switches, plugs and other items...RIP wifi router 😂
Yeah, it's the Price Intelligence tool at the top of this page on the desktop version of SD that says these was $15 a few days back. Looks like these bulbs were posted as part of a previous deal on various Kasa items and it's pulling the $15 price that was for something else. Kinda like those Amazon pages where they combine a bunch of different products on one page and the reviews get confusing.

Can anyone comment on how these bulbs differ from similar ones from Wyze or Govee? There are so many of these things now from different manufacturers, it's ultimately a good thing, but I'm not sure what sets one brand apart from another.
for security purposes, is it advisable to have IoT devices like smart lightbulbs blocked off from the internet at the router level?
I put them on my guest wifi to isolate from network and other devices. Worst case it gets remotely hacked, it only has access to said device instead of snooping onto main network or see other devices to try and hack. It's overkill sure but minimal effort to add an extra layer of security
I bought Phillips bulbs from Home Depot and could never get all 3 to work at the same time.
Installed these and within 5 mins I had them installed.
Dislikes: the app doesn't have the ability to change settings by a group, so each individual bulb has to be changed instead of one time for all of them. Minor inconveniences
Just got this. Incredibly easy to install, especially if you already have Kasa devices. What I especially liked is after install, I started my Alexa app and it instantly asked if I wanted to add the bulb. Smart devices are getting easier and easier to use.
BTW, I got a "used" pack for a couple of dollars less. It looked and was sealed just like new.

Yes, so you should isolate IoT devices to their own wifi network so they can't connect to other local network devices. There's advanced networking setups (VLANs, etc) you can also do if you're so inclined and have the right gear. However, IIRC when you block these lightbulbs from internet access though, they will not work. They connect via the internet to the Kasa platform to update firmware, and check for "commands" etc.

For online they only have Feit electric ones for $30
They sell higher lumen ones. I ended up getting them and they are decently brighter. Moved these into bedroom lamps which works nicely 👍🏼
Thanks. Repped.
