Reading in the dark with a spot lighting shining into your eyes is just going to cause eye strains.
I got a Kindle Oasis refurb -- the battery life with a fresh charge, no wifi, medium brightness was just less than an hour of use. Sent it back, got another one -- and it was less than 45 minutes of runtime.
I know the Oasis has a smaller battery, but 45 minutes of casual use is laughable. When using Wifi, you could literally see the battery indicator drop several percentage points each minute.
I wouldn't ever trust the Woot "refurbishment" process to be anything more than "it turns on, wipe it with a cloth, rebox it!"
There was a couple for many people KINDLE30 that took additional % off

For the other Kindle Paperwhite, some of them have the option for replacement battery. So, Oasis is really poor in that area.
On top of that, probably because of software issue, once you download a file to your Oasis, the file system would try to re-index no stop. If you have a lot of files, the sorting will drain all the battery power. From my experience, I don't turn on wifi on my Oasis and I rarely add any file to it. It is in high maintenance mode for me.
Consider Oasis 2 was introduced Nov 2017. A refurbished one would have very poor battery life after 6 years.
As a result, I treat my Oasis as a collector item and I use Kindle Paperwhite for my reading.
This is the 32gb version. Only real difference between the 2021 and 2018 version is warm light adjustments.

Amazon had these 9th gen (2021) 8 GB Paperwhite on sale for $90 during Prime Day. If you had a Trade-in, it would bring the price down to $62, not counting whatever $ value you got for the device you traded in.
I don't have a crystal ball but have bought many many Kindles over the years. I think that the Paperwhile will be $90ish again for Black Friday now that it's been out for over 2 years.
If you do Trade-in, I'd suggest sending it in now to make sure you get the 20% off coupon in time. SOME Amazon accounts qualify for Instant Trade-In credit but that's YMMV.
The micro USB and USBC is really a non issue
There are these micro USB to USBC converter on Amazon for couple dollars. Just tape it to the Kindle and can charge it with any USBc cable
I think I am gonna get it tonight. I actually don't care for bigger 6.8 newer ones
