No. This machine is about as proprietary as it gets.

Unless you need Intel architecture for whatever reason, I would spend another $40-50 to get a Ryzen 5 mini PC that has 50%+ more processing power, twice the amount of RAM and SSD capacity, and only uses a quarter of the power and space. Various sellers on Amazon have them for around $200 after clipping an available coupon. Can't post links here as moderators take them down for violating third party seller restrictions.

How many sata ports? Room and power for additional 3.5" drives?

Bought this a few deals ago. Good little machine. I got a really cheap Tesla P4 card and got the enterprise drivers so it will output the gpu through the onboard hdmi. Fun little project. Kinda a nightmare to cool if you plan to put a low profile gpu in it, but you can take the cd tray out, install some mesh, and generate some decent flow. Overall it's pretty great for things that you don't want on your main pc (Linux, docker, retroarch, camera server, etc...) or it could be a decently capable office machine on the cheap.
The on board GPU is disabled in bios as soon as any other GPU is plugged in. And what point would there be to output signal thru the on board HDMI anyway?

I have this pc and it's solid.

I bought it 18 months ago for $215, I added 8gb of memory and a tb hdd because I had them handy.
I did the same when i think this deal first showed up. Loved using it as my primary desktop for a year. Turned it into an unraid nas with 64GB ram and 5x 8tb and 3x 18tb drives and its solid. The MB has 3 sata nad 1 nvme but I added in a LSI HBA card which supported 8 additional sata.

Just a heads up. Have one of these from a few deals ago, the i5 version, and it's fine for low-demand computing. Actually very nice. But one of the two we bought is used for video editing and was consistently overheating and crashing into a blue screen. Just upgraded the cooling fan with a Noctua low-profile heatsink/fan, and that worked, but also cost $60.

I have the drives connected in an external case with its own power. The drives are connected using 2x miniSAS cables that each turn into 4 sata ports.
