I've been with AT&T for years, but with recent family additions, I'm looking to save money wherever I can.
they use t-mobile towers, so if you live in a place with good t-mobile coverage, you are set. the only times I had issues were traveling to Iowa, specifically Des Moines. they don't have great coverage there, nor great roaming agreements I guess.
also if you get into a place like a stadium, or a touristy area with thousands of people but not lots of towers, you will get bad service, as you are not the top tier customer - that would be t-mobile post-paid customers. I've had absolutely no internet and almost no ability to call or text in places like that. but that is a problem for all MVNOs, not just Mint. For me, I rarely find myself in those situations, so Mint was fine.
"To answer your question, Unfortunately, you are not eligible to get the free 3 months since the promotions is applicable only if you can buy a plan on Mint website.
I highly suggest to request a refund in BestBuy then we will place your order today here in Mint website so you can take advantage of 3 months free."

Also, for what it's worth, Mint's service isn't quite what it once was. Depends on location. I'm in NYC where there's a good deal of congestion, and service has really degraded from what it was a year or 2 ago. I'm talking data speeds in kbs, not mbs. So, if you're jumping thru a lot of hoops for this deal, it may not be as great as you thought it was anyway (depending on where you're located). My service has been so crappy I've been trying to work out a refund from them.
Finally, best way to insure you get this deal if you're already on Mint? 1) Have a friend purchase the sim on their credit card and pay them back so it's not under your own name. 2) Have a google voice number you can forward the calls to so that you can take any random new number from Mint. 3) When first registering the sim pop it in a phone other than the one you'll be using, then afterwards put it back in your primary phone so that a different IMEI registers in their system just in case they're keeping track of them. You do these 3 things, pretty much guaranteed you'll get your extra 3 months.
However, when I asked about having a new plan purchased from Best Buy or Target, and they replied that activation for plans purchased only from mint mobile is covered and not from bestbuy, etc.
Can anyone confirm if they have activated any plan purchased from bestbuy or target and got this offer? it will be extremely helpful.
thanks
