Best buy website don't allow me to buy the phone online (no phone number to transfer) So I went to a store with stock and purchase the phone. Get everything done in the same day. The phone was unlocked and flashed. There was no charge for cancellation.

I think that's more of a text/carrier issue than the phone. I've had that problem with many phones. I just send important pics with Facebook messenger and it doesn't degrade the quality as much.
Hmn. I'm on Vzw.
I believe you about the text / carrier issue, but it does it when I'm on WiFi too. Which is why I thought it was my phone.

Was anyone able to get it unlocked using AT&T canceling confirmed? There's no store for pickup in my area, and the soonest I can get it is 11/22 which will pass the 3 days cancellation for the $35 activation refund.

Traded a Note 9 a few months back for an S23 Ultra. Although the camera and screen seemed better, the overall operation seemed sluggish compared to the Note 9. Ended up returning it to keep my Note 9. Considering that I'm not as concerned about the camera and screen definition, would this phone operate more along the lines of my Note 9. Hard to explain what I mean as sluggish in comparison. Also really disliking that I'm faced with giving up the headphone jack and memory expansion. I also am slowly running out of apps that are still able to run correctly on my Note 9 android version. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Don't buy the S22 Ultra. I have had for 18 months and the battery life is horrific. I'm thinking about paying off the remaining balance just to get rid of it!

So all ATT phones can be unlocked in similar manner instead of paying for 2 months service? Where you just charged for a few days of service and no activation fees? Did you port out or call to cancel line?

Yes, that's mostly the case. As mentioned in the wiki, if you are be to cancel within 3 days then activation fee will be waived.
