You can add up to $2k Apple GCs to your Apple Account Balance and also use up to 8x Apple GCs during checkout

If you have an Apple Account Balance available then it'll show up during checkout next to 8x GC option -- even on the edu store

Target promo is for $100 Apple GC -- you get only one $15 GC per order/transaction
Also, if im buying all these online, adding one to the cart at a time and paying for it. Is there an overall limit per target account, I got one account with target red card, wanted to see if need to open another one?

I'm sure these will have a limit online, and I realistically would need about 7-8 of these, but I REALLY don't want to be 'that' guy holding up one of the self-checkouts especially if it's ON Thursday or Friday I have to go in to get em.

But I'll be damned if I'm buying $800 in gift cards and don't get my freebie cash 😎

God, I miss the deals from about 5 yrs ago where PayPal Digital gifts had these for like $80-85 through eBay and you could buy however many until they were sold out.

I can do 10 of these at a self checkout faster than the average person can checkout a cart with 15 items…. So long as the payment processing is not lagging! That said to not attract attention I usually do 4 since soon after that you will get a payment decline anyway….

No one knows the online limit yet -- wait for promo to start and see what happens

Not sure if you can use the same card on multiple accounts if you create multiple accounts under your name -- if you have multiple people in the household then each person can safely have their own Target account without issue (use their name/email/phone/CC)

Discover card also has 5% at Target this quarter if you have that

Is that really true about the over 4 is a decline? Is that usually from the bank's end or Target's end?

Let's say I got 8, would it work on 4 with my debit and 4 with my credit card, that way I don't have to leave the kiosk?

Chase will decline after a fewish, they get detailed data and will decline many consumer cards. That type of hold can only be removed by a sr fraud specialist that works bankers hours. I have read red card will have a limit but guessing it is based on use history. I change payment method after 4 since that chase issue

For the folks buying these at the store, check the package very carefully for glued edges. It's a well known scam all over the place. I had this happen to me last year and it took months until I was able to get Target to refund some few hundred dollars worth of gift cards. I really felt sorry for Target but it's on them they didn't secure their gift cards instead of leaving them out in the open like that.

You activate an Apple gift card by activating the numbers on the sleeve as opposed to the card itself.

The scammers would steal empty gift cards, take the card from the sleeves and replace them with old ones, glue the sleeve back in and put it back on the rack. You activate the sleeve, you activate a card is someone else's possession.

Why not just open the package to inspect the barcode inside instead inspect the glue portion. I always open the package to see if there any funny business going on before buying it. Came across a few that being tampered when opened to check. Other than that, haven't had problems when open to check before checking out at the register.

I've seen a customer complain to a Rite Aid manager about her gift card being empty.

IMHO it's not worth the risk to buy physical gift cards. These scams have been happening for years now. I'd rather buy a limited amount of digital GCs with different accounts than risk being scammed out of my money. There's no guarantee you'll get your money back.

To be precise 17.4% discount. $115 worth of gift cards for $95.
Can you flesh out the math? Not understanding how you arrived at a 17.4% discount.

By paying using target red card which you get 5% off. So you only paying $95 for the $100 apple gc, but you also netting $15 in target gc at the same time. So overall, you're only spending $95 to get $100 apple gc + $15 target gc. Therefore, 20/115 = 17.4%

Thanks. I just tested this. I had an Apple account balance display and the option to add add'l gift cards. It's important to log in with your APPLE ID first. Maybe that's why he didn't see an account balance and only the option to pay with up to 8 gift cards!

Does the Target red card give you a true 5% off on these gift card promos? I thought I read it's slightly less bc it subtracts the bonus GC from the total.

For ppl who don't have the Target credit card Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cards have 5% cash back this quarter when you checkout with PayPal. Just remember to activate the promo beforehand.
