-Performance is solid and smooth, it easily handled whatever I threw at it.
-The 7:5 aspect ratio was so good - one of my favorite uses was multitasking in portrait mode: could watch a video on the top and actually adjust the multitasking window so the video would be full screen with no black bars on the top/bottom, leaving 2/3 of the screen for whatever else I wanted.
-It's bigger than an iPad and a bit heavier than one too, but wasn't unwieldy.
-I think the keyboard is actually pretty good. The pen is nice if you can get it for $50.
-67W charging on a tablet is fantastic. Fast charging makes it harder for me to go back to slower charging devices (iPad).
-Speakers are great, battery life is pretty good, screen is good...but...
I did wind up returning it, even though I liked it. My screen had a lot of motion blur, more than I would expect on an LCD panel. Most reviewers praised the screen, but Ars thought it was terrible, and I did see the issues they were talking about. But I might have had a lemon, too - most reviewers don't mention any blurriness (and fwiw the OnePlus return experience was decent, never gave me any trouble). I did run into a few bugs in the software, nothing serious but annoying. App compatibility is typical for Android tablets: some apps will only display in portrait. Also, while it does have a 144Hz screen, you'll only see that quick of a response rate in the homescreen and in a few key apps (at least it includes Chrome) - OnePlus does this with their phones as well, they limit what apps get the full refresh rate, arguably to help battery life. Lastly, while there is a promise of getting the slick multitasking that the OnePlus Open has, right now multitasking is limited to two apps on screen with a floating window for a third, and not all apps will run in this mode (YouTube Music frustratingly refused any of them). Whether or not these will be dealbreakers depends on your needs.
But, for $400 (or even less) I don't think you'll find an Android tablet that can beat this. Performance wise it runs circles around Lenovo's offerings (P11 Pro, P12) and OP actually does update its software, it's faster than the Pixel Tablet and comes with a keyboard case (imo far more useful than a semi-smart dock). It is not yet the most polished Android tablet experience but as a companion device it should be a good middle ground between the more expensive Samsung tablets and the cheaper offerings from Amazon and Lenovo.
Fwiw, I've now got a Galaxy Tab S9+, and it's definitely a better machine and tablet experience (especially in multitasking), but it also cost me twice as much. It's really good, but I struggle to say it's worth twice the price of this.
-Processor is close to the S8 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 1). The Dimensity 9000 isn't quite there, but it benchmarks close.
-OxygenOS is OnePlus's skin of Android (like with Samsung you get One UI). Unlike Samsung, it doesn't have its own store or come with a bunch of duplicate apps installed. Comes with Google Play.
On the other hand, I got my OnePlus tab and the battery is fantastic, the keyboard feels just as good as a Galaxy Tab S (not quite as good an iPad Pro keyboard, but still really good), the OS is slim, super responsive, and the tablet lasts me for several heavy use days. If I have to complain about anything, it's the placement of the camera on the back, but heck, I've even gotten used to it. I haven't been able to get my hands on the pen yet, but I've heard good things about it.
Hope that helps!

But if you're deciding between the two for a new purchase, I think there's more to consider: OnePlus Pad will get Android updates for a few years, and processor-wise it's trading blows with the S8. However, I do think Samsung's tablet software is overall better (though I haven't tried out the S7, so idk if it has all the features that the S9 line does), though if OnePlus brings over some of their multitasking feautres from the Open (which they're rumored to), it could be more even. Samsung has the better pen experience though, and I'm a much bigger fan of OLED screens over LCD now.
Not saying OnePlus is bad, especially at this price! I want one just to play around with!
The biggest issue is 128gb storage, especially for a tablet. 256gb is my new minimum for any device. If it has microsd then I could live with it. not sure if it does??
i'm looking for a cheap 1000 nits HDR tablet just to play movies. don't care about performance/camera/etc...
If it goes on sale again the lenovo p11 pro 2nd gen is the tablet to get imho.

It is all about two things..... screen tecnology and what codex can your tablet play. Lenovo does Dolby vision and does a better job at hdr+ AND THAT IS WHY the p11 pro 2nd gen is so good at moviedo watching. Samsung fon't want to pay Dolby the required license fee.
It is crazy that it comes to codex.

i already have an iPad mini, but never owned an android tablet before. just want one to play around with android and then end up using it as a movie player when i'm bored of android.

generally modern CPUs have hardware accelerated HEVC decoding so i'm not too worried about the codecs.
