- Pay off installment plan from MyAtt app or at att.com. You can do this as soon as activated/device ships.
- Turn on iPhone and let it activate with the pushed AT&T eSim (should be automatic once connected to wifi). Make a phone call.

Edit: AT&T chat is closed on the weekend I called reseller support and they refused to cancel the line and said I had to wait 30 days. I had to port out to another carrier.- Call *PORT on the new iPhone to get a porting pin. You also need your wireless account number (displayed when you login to att.com).
- I had a great experience porting to usmobile.com for their 50 day free trial. Just sign up and fill out the details including port (AT&T Postpaid, account number, port pin). Transfer completed in minutes!

- We haven't found a way to unlock the iPhone 14/15 like we did the 13 because it has an eSIM assigned that gets activated on boot, and no physical SIM card. Also the phones are showing Verizon locked and not flex reseller policy. It will automatically unlock 60 days post activation however.

This does not change your existing plan UNLESS you do a trade in to get $350 or $830 or $1000 credits. And that comes via 36 monthly billing credits and you must be on a current or older unlimited plan. If you have any other prior plan it will move you over to the latest unlimited plan. So if you NEED to keep a grandfathered plan, just buy the phone via installments to get the egift card. You can not do a trade in.
If you DO NOT trade in, then it is simply a phone purchase on installment payment plan and you can pay it off once you see the total installment balance due listed in your account within a few weeks (actually whenever your billing cycle generates the next bill). Once the installments are paid off you are free and clear to do whatever you want with the phone or phone line.

I'm also horrified the wait for gift card says up to 25 days when ordered online! In store it's within 24 hrs… Now I can't even use the 1st gift card as down payment on the 2nd phone in store…
I worked at Verizon many years ago and would always have to correct mistakes the telesales and internet sales reps would make.
There are multiple trade in prices. Ex: Unlimited Welcome ($27 for multiple lines) earns you $415 trade in.
If you select unlimited plus or ultimate you receive I believe it was $830 or higher.
I don't know how to get the trade in through Walmart though.
Without the trade in. The Verizon store is a better deal if you have any old phone to trade in (pixel OG gets you $415). This is for new line. I haven't researched upgrades recently so I can't speak on that.

If new account or new line being added, it could be the credit check issue.
Only way to do it from this point is to go to a store on Friday that can activate phones. Be sure to call ahead today to see if your store can do phone activations first, if not, call around to find one that can do activations as not all of them can do that, especially the smaller less busy ones.
I just upgraded an ATT line. I logged into ATT first, paid off the prior installment balance. Then went to Walmart.com to order. All done under 5 minutes, no hiccups.
I have no idea. You can search the recent iPhone 13 deal but I dont think anyone has had success other than activating phone. You can try customer service but they have been tough to give the info. Or go into a Verizon store with ID
