Edit: AT&T chat is closed on the weekend I called reseller support and they refused to cancel the line and said I had to wait 30 days. I had to port out to another carrier.- Call *PORT on the new iPhone to get a porting pin. You also need your wireless account number (displayed when you login to att.com).

- We haven't found a way to unlock the iPhone 14/15 like we did the 13 because it has an eSIM assigned that gets activated on boot, and no physical SIM card. Also the phones are showing Verizon locked and not flex reseller policy. It will automatically unlock 60 days post activation however.

The phone arrives on 27th, and, in my Verizon account, I can see the line was activated on 23rd. So, if I wait for the phone to arrive, I'll have to pay the activation fee for sure. But, if I cancel today, not sure if the phone is activated with Verizon or not. When I check by IMEI on imeicheck.com, it says:
Activation Status: Not Activated
Carrier: US Verizon Locked Activation Policy
Sim-Lock: Locked
When are you getting your phone? Not sure if it's worth taking that risk by cancelling the line today.
Now, it seems we're concerned because most have received the email minutes after activation but in the form he printed states it could take 24 hrs to hear from them.
This morning i've decided to call their help line for GC, the CSR was very helpful and assured me the GC was on the way -- she actually emailed me with some questions asking for copy of the receipt, and name and email. She said they will follow up and solve the issue and that plenty people were calling about this 'glitch'.. We'll have to wait I guess,

Can you tell me detail of what is your case, if you are buying S23 then you should receive the physical sim card that come with it. After you activate the phone, pay it off then swap the physical sim card to an unlocked phone. You don't need to worry about eSIm since Samsung still supports physical sim.
Are you buying with ATT or VZ ?
The whole point of SIM SWAP is to trick the system into thinking that its not currently use by any account so you can request unlock as NON-ATT MEMBER. if it is under any phone number, only the owner can request the unlock.
