Requires AT&T service and phone payment plan. You may want to include that in your title.

the store near me doesn't have mobile center so I only have option to place an online order. would i need to keep the service for 20 days until walmart timeline to deliver GC for online order? It makes things little complicated considering that 14 plus would be 840-500 GC + 100 for activation fee and charges while walmart deliver the phone = 450 for the phone when I can get base 15 series from Redpocket at 500 after rebate (although locked but red pocket annual would cost 200 ish which works for me).
Walmart system is not connected with VZ or AT&T. Once you cancel the line with your carrier, your Walmart gift card still belong to you as Walmart doesn't know you terminate the services. The only case that you have to return the gift card is when you start the return process.

Your only issue is avoid the activation fees by cancel within 3 days and depend if you are order VZ or ATT, both have different time line

I was able to cancel within 3 days, waived the activation fee. The total bill is less than 9 dollars.

Verizon. I am not able to pay off, the bot always connect me to test message or a representative, which don't allow me to pay off. In this situation , can I cancel the line first and then pay off later?

Ok. So I don't bother to make sure that I get the phone, turn it on, make some phone calls to ensure it kind of registered with their network and then cancel? Sorry, I have really never done this. Of course would like to save $35 and happy to cancel now it that is safe to do. Thank you
I am in the same boat. Not sure if I should just cancel the line now.

The phone arrives on 27th, and, in my Verizon account, I can see the line was activated on 23rd. So, if I wait for the phone to arrive, I'll have to pay the activation fee for sure. But, if I cancel today, not sure if the phone is activated with Verizon or not. When I check by IMEI on imeicheck.com, it says:

Activation Status: Not Activated
Carrier: US Verizon Locked Activation Policy
Sim-Lock: Locked

When are you getting your phone? Not sure if it's worth taking that risk by cancelling the line today.

Pretty much the same situation as you, I'm with T-Mobile and did an upgrade getting the 14pro. The CSR was positive i qualified and actually printed the gift card promo page for me though i didn't see the screen while he told me about it was all good for the promo.

Now, it seems we're concerned because most have received the email minutes after activation but in the form he printed states it could take 24 hrs to hear from them.

This morning i've decided to call their help line for GC, the CSR was very helpful and assured me the GC was on the way -- she actually emailed me with some questions asking for copy of the receipt, and name and email. She said they will follow up and solve the issue and that plenty people were calling about this 'glitch'.. We'll have to wait I guess,

by the way the number to call as printed in the promo page is 1 888 5375503
Waiting for your update. BTW do you have Magenta or Magenta Plus with T-Mobile? Walmart phone person told us they have no access to Magenta or One plan since these plans are grandfathered. I doubt though.

So Verizon won't allow you to pay off the phones til the first bill. Anyone can chime in if it's worth keeping the phone. I got the iPhone 14 Pro. Gift card won't come til 20 days later. If we cancel after the first month. Will Verizon still unlock the phones ?

I was at Walmart and had the them look up to see if I was eligible for the promotion. They were unable to access my account and the message said to call TMobile. I have the One Plan. So, maybe they don't have access to grandfathered plans?

i wouldnt be able to confirm with you but in theory, it should work the same way. as i tried with multiple phones.
  • As long as phone is full pay off
  • MYATT portal does not show that phone under your line

Can you tell me detail of what is your case, if you are buying S23 then you should receive the physical sim card that come with it. After you activate the phone, pay it off then swap the physical sim card to an unlocked phone. You don't need to worry about eSIm since Samsung still supports physical sim.
Are you buying with ATT or VZ ?

The whole point of SIM SWAP is to trick the system into thinking that its not currently use by any account so you can request unlock as NON-ATT MEMBER. if it is under any phone number, only the owner can request the unlock.
I am buying iPhone 14 plus, with ATT. I currently have a Samsung S22, which is an unlocked phone. Can I swap the new esim to my Samsung S22, and unlock the new iPhone 14 plus?

I just did that calling up the automated number 800.837.4966 and it worked like charm. Say the keyword "pay off device" and then you need your account pin. Make sure to have a credit card on your my verizon account profile. It took hardly 2 minutes and I also got the email. Now I am really torn if I should go ahead and cancel the line because I don't know if it's already active. The phone is in transit with FedEx. I am not sure if the device is active and if I cancel the line now, it will auto unlock after 60 days. Any thoughts anyone what should I do?
You will want to cancel within 3 days of shipping, bc the ship date counts as activation date, and if you don't cancel within 3 days, you will get charged the activation fee and I believe first month. Yes it will auto unlock after 60 days but to make it quicker, there are reports on the iPhone 13 thread that shows steps on how to unlock earlier. Involves an at&t postpaid sim.
