1. Trade in device and use that credit to pay off phone in 36months while keeping phone plan. For UU on verizon this comes up to (100avg x 36) - 300 Walmart GC
2. No trade in, but pay off phone immediately within 3 days of receiving to avoid activation fees. For the iphone 15 pro, this comes up to be 999- 300 Walmart GC regardless what plan you choose.
Follow steps included this wiki to port out your locked device to other carrier.

AT&T details
Order/cancel? Activation starts on ship date (or store activation date). AT&T does not prorate after 3 days, so if you don't receive the device by the 3rd day you have to pay for the entire month of service.
To get the activation fees waived (if you're not cancelling within 3 days) be sure to sign up for AARP. It can be free or almost free
https://slickdeals.net/f/17039080-aarp-1-year-for-free-or-4-capital-one-offer-or-chase-card-offer-and-maybe-make-money-see-details-and-free-power-cord-charger-or-trunk-organizer
- Contact AT&T over chat and ask them to waive your activation fee since it's an AARP benefit. This will save $35/line.
- Set up autopay from att.com or MyAtt app to save $10/line/month (debit; or credit -$5/month).
- Do you have AT&T fiber home internet? Contact AT&T over chat to "bundle" home internet plus wireless for a $20/month discount. You can also sign up for home internet after getting wireless to receive the same $20/month discount. There are loads of sign-up offers include $350 gift card back for new customers https://slickdeals.net/f/17073514-new-at-t-fiber-customers-purchase-at-t-fiber-internet-plan-300mbps-get-up-to-350-in-reward-cards-or-logitech-g-cloud-gaming-handheld-device-6-200-reward-card
- Pay off installment plan from MyAtt app or at att.com. You can do this as soon as activated/device ships.
- Turn on iPhone and let it activate with the pushed AT&T eSim (should be automatic once connected to wifi). Make a phone call.
- Transfer the AT&T eSim to another unlocked iPhone. "Use eSIM Quick Transfer on iPhone" Procedure https://support.apple.c
om/en-us/HT212780
- Make a call on the unlocked iPhone. Check in myAtt or att.com and check every few minutes until the unlocked iPhone shows up in your account as your device.
- Request unlock https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/ as a non-ATT customer, with non-ATT phone# and email for the new iPhone
- Check email and click to acknowledge unlock request. May take a few minutes to receive this.
- Wait for unlock approval email. It could take only a few minutes or up to a day
- new iPhone will be unlocked once you try a different provider eSIM. You can either use a new eSIM or transfer one from your other iPhone.
- If you want to, cancel AT&T service over chat or phone so that you don't go beyond 3 days post activation. If you instead want to keep the service, do everything I mentioned above to bring your monthly cost down.
Edit: AT&T chat is closed on the weekend I called reseller support and they refused to cancel the line and said I had to wait 30 days. I had to port out to another carrier.- Call *PORT on the new iPhone to get a porting pin. You also need your wireless account number (displayed when you login to att.com).
- I had a great experience porting to usmobile.com for their 50 day free trial. Just sign up and fill out the details including port (AT&T Postpaid, account number, port pin). Transfer completed in minutes!
Verizon details
- check out the recent iPhone 13 community wiki on unlock (60 days on iPhone 14/15!), pay off, 3 day rule etc. for Verizon
https://slickdeals.net/f/17028796-verizon-or-at-t-128gb-apple-iphone-13-new-or-added-line-8-30-mo-for-36-months-299-total-more-free-s-h
- We haven't found a way to unlock the iPhone 14/15 like we did the 13 because it has an eSIM assigned that gets activated on boot, and no physical SIM card. Also the phones are showing Verizon locked and not flex reseller policy. It will automatically unlock 60 days post activation however.

Seems so far nobody has confirmed the trade in for T-Mobile. Most people here do trade in with Verizon or ATT.
i dont know why the rep would remove the IMEI of ATT database. Normaly when the phone turn on and activate, the IMEI will register in ATT network and it only get removed if you decide to return the phone within 14 days. it would be much easier if you have a QR code of the eSim.
it is easy to transfer from Android to iPhone but transfer back from iPhone --> Adnroid requires QR code.
if you want to try. Transfer the eSim back to the iPhone, then make a couple of call, text. make sure it appears on myATT again. then go back to store and ask them to give you the QR of the sim instead of doing it for you. then we do the eSim swap again. it is a lot of work so maybe wait till tomorrow and try to submit the request again as ATT system will lock you out for 24hr if you got 2 denied on a row.
Thanks. Looks like I will be charged first month. Do you know if I turn on autopay , you only get discount if connected to debit or checking? I want to make sure I pay by credit so I get Chase offer but I don't want my bill to be $10 higher. Wonder if there is a workaround
My account also seems to be locked out of BYOD IMEI transfer, was going to put IMEI in of iPhone to see if it accepts itIts letting be activate the iPhone from the MyATT app, not on desktop browser but did not go through with it yet, Im tempted to try unlock one more time but I think it will lock me outSign up for a Slickdeals account to remove this ad.

Ok, I added autopay but also made an advance payment of $40 to CC to hopefully trigger offer
They say it might take up to two billing periods for autopay discount to take effect - which is BS
So tonight with the unlocker I tried twice, once with Sim1 and once with Sim2 (device has 2 sims)
Any harm in trying again tonight or should wait until morning?
I transfered ip14pro sims to Pixel3xl in the ATT store. They gave me physical sims. Now pixel phones are showing in myATT. To request unlock with ATT, do I need to answer
"Do you have a mobile number from AT&T?"
Answer should be No right?
When I selected "No" it is asking for IMEI- I need to put in new phones Iphone 14 pro IMEI or Pixel 3xl IMEI?
Once I put in IMEI what will be the next questions and answers please.
I paid off the phones this evening. And tomorrow will be 3rd day with the network so I think I am in time crunch right now.
On the account it said, phones are "unlock eligible" so I went ahead and tried to unlock before the sim transfer and the request got denied. I want to try it now as the pixel phones have Iphone sims in them.
No sims in Iphones right now. That is how it should be right?
Thank you very much.
