Requires AT&T service and phone payment plan. You may want to include that in your title.

It is probably fine. Worst case you can activate on a Verizon mvno (Tracfone, Total wireless, straight talk) and it will still unlock after 60 days. Best case is it just unlocks automatically.

I would chat Verizon anyway and ask what your activation date is. You can also do the apple warranty lookup on your phone serial#.
Ok. Thanks for the response.

I was able to setup my account using the assigned (new) phone number before the device was shipped . If you don't have the number , call up Walmart and they will provide that.
Or if you do not have the phone number then you can call Verizon and provide your SSN to get the Verizon phone number associated with the device. Once you have the phone number you can then setup Verizon account.

So you set up a new account with nothing but a phone number? I have the phone number and the contract numbers, but I don't get beyond the screen that says your phone number is not active in the system. Any special tricks on how to proceed?
I setup up my account. However it doesn't allow me to payoff the device. Can I cancel the line and payoff the balance later by going to Verizon store?

Can you convert an old inactive AT&t physical sim to eSIM, and then use that?
Someone tried that and it did not give them to option to convert to eSIM. You are welcome to try though.

I don't have another ATT account except Prepaid

My account is locked to transfer sims
My IMEI is locked of trying to device unlock for 24 hours

Wondering if I should try to get customer service to transfer sim back to iPhone and then use for a day or two then transfer back....

I didn't get an option for choosing which trade in phone went with which line of service. I submitted three separate trades in requests and choose in store dropped off for all three.

I did my first port about 6 hours ago as one of the phones is for my daughter and she is going out of town for a few weeks.

I plan to drop the 3 phones later today. I'll work on ports after that or in the next day or two.

On the ports...

If you do online port from ATT to Verizon, you will be asked for ATT account number and ATT account pin. The PIN is not your passcode to your ATT account. The PIN is the 6 digit (time expiring) port out passcode you request from ATT mobile app or web site.

If give Verizon the wrong port out pin, you will get a automated call ~30 - 60 minutes after submission asking you key in your (ATT port out) PIN. You don't get much tie to respond before being forwarded to customer service. CS can complete the port if you have the right code.

Verizon says ports from other mobile carriers will take 4 - 24 hours to complete, but it took less than an hour for this line.
Thanks. I was able to submit two separate trade-in requests for the two phones that I bought and chose store drop-off option. Only thing I am not sure is how will they apply credits to what device, especially if the credit value is different. I plan to ask the question to store employee later today.

Please let me know how it goes from your end. Thanks.

FYI. Ordered 2 lines via Verizon. Got the phone today and chatted with VZ rep and get them cancelled. The phone will be locked for 60 days. Will pay off the final bill which include only the device cost. Hopefully it is helpful to someone in the same boat
