Requires AT&T service and phone payment plan. You may want to include that in your title.

Btw the AT&T reseller line said I cannot cancel within 30 days. So the port out (call *PORT) is the only option, at least on the weekend since chat is closed.

You can just ask them if the phone IMEI is properly activate. Last time I told them my schedule is tight and I need to ensure it will satisfy 60 days requirement so I can unlock the phone to use on my upcoming international trip.
Or you can ask them you want to activate the iPhone and they will happy to help. Since you already pay $35 activation fees for the line anyway

I just talked to ATT tech support to try and activate IPhone back to account. He said since I switched sims yesterday I have to wait until Tuesday (72h) until I can reactivate IPhone on account. He said only way to get around security restriction is to do it in store.

Do not submit more than 2. You will get lock out.
The reason you get that error because you just pay off the device today. Give the system 24hrs to process the payment before you can submit request to unlock.
Should I move the eSim back to the new phone in the meantime? Or it doesn't matter?

In case anyone else wants to port out to cancel AT&T ..
US Mobile (usmobile.com) gives free 50 day trial and requires port, so will successfully close your AT&T account for free.

I submitted the port request now just hoping it all goes through. I used my AT&T account number and temporary port pin (from calling *PORT). Fingers crossed.

Update: not even 10 minutes and port request was approved and eSIM pushed to my iPhone ready to activate US Mobile. Highly recommend!

I would go back to the walmart where you got the phone and have them check their WARP order to see if anything is funky there, they should be able to tell you more

What's WARP order? thx

Just leave the eSIM in the unlocked phone, it need to stay in the system under your phone number.

The reason store can do it because they can verify your ID. then maybe when the agent transfer your eSIM they replace the s22 IMEI in the system with the iPhone. This time if you decide to go to store can you ask the store rep for the QR code, that's would be much easier to transfer eSIM

My parents are on the old legacy ATT plan with 2 lines. Is it possible to open new line on their account to get a phone, pay it off, and then cancel line without their plan changing at Walmart store or even online?

My 24 hour unlock request ban should be up very late tonight or tomorrow morning. I may try then and just wait until Tues for switch back to IPhone if fails. I am not confident store would switch S22 to IPhone and give me QR code to use in advance in case I want to switch back, I can ask but not sure they would do it. I think QR code is only one time use.

hey guys , i chatted with verizon rep last night for cancelling line and to waive off activation fee, ( paid off device already via bot the previous day) .. and the rep told me he could not waive the activation fee . i told about the 3 day policy , but still he said that is only for phones bought on verizon and not byod and said mine is byod .. may be mine is showing as byod as i paid it off ? .. i asked her what would be the final bill and he said said he woudnt know until he processes the deactivation and asked if we can go ahead and cancel .. i holded the cancellation and said ill get back ..
should i just go ahead and cancel ? or should i try my luck with another rep ( today being my 3rd day , bought the phone is store on friday evening ).. .. is it ok to say mine is nt byod and bought at walmart on verizon service and i paid off the device ? ..

TIA !!
