Requires AT&T service and phone payment plan. You may want to include that in your title.

Did you even take advantage of the trade in? If not, then you just paid for the full price of the phone - walmart GC. Is this it?
Ya. That's it.

Dropped off all 3 trade in phones at one of the local Verizon company stores this morning. Verizon rep turned the phones on to verify they were at setup screen. (I.e. Customer data erased and device activation lock disabled with Apple.) They printed and handed me 3 receipts as (backup) proof the trade in phones were turned in.

As for which credit goes with which line of service - I don't know that it will matter unless you change plans before the 36 monthly credits have been paid out. I assume they would stop paying out TI credits for a particular line of service if you changed that line to a lower tier or if you canceled the line.

Just a general note for others reading this thread...

Both ATT and Verizon's purpose for offering interest free payment plans and/or high value trade in offers is to get customers to sick with their postpaid service for 3+ years.

They use to hand out $~300 - $400 phones for free with 1 year contracts. This moved to 2 year contracts as smart phones got more expensive. Many years ago they also paid out a ~$300 commission per new line of service to their sales partners, but I'm told this number has gone down over time. Other than interest free financing plans (backed by apple in the case of iPhones), the US carriers have moved away from "contracts".

The carrier payouts are baked into the monthly service charges of what ever their current high/medium/low service plans might be. If you are on one of their (pricey) post paid plans and are NOT taking advantage of free/subsidized phones and/or high trade in credits on *EVERY* "renewal" cycle, you are leaving money on the table.

Most of the difference in monthly service pricing between MNVO pre-paid, carrier pre-paid, and carrier post paid plans is these payouts. If you are not taking advantage of these payouts (via free phones / high value billing credits) you will almost always be better off on a pre-paid plan. And as many others have discussed in related threads, in some cases you are better off with a MVNO anyway....

Food for thought.
Hi, after you completed iPhone purchase with Walmart, how did you go about the trade in with Verizon Company stores? Did you told the representative you purchased iPhone at Walmart and how they determine the value of the trade in?

Fedex damaged the ATT phone package and did not deliver.
Called Walmart rep claimed to cancel the order, but still shows delayed at the site. No email confirmation.

Now sold out online, but asked me to reorder in 72 hours when it comes up. I guess, that is not going to happen.

Who needs to explain this to ATT who have already started billing from the shipped date?

Poor spot to be in.

Placed an order last night but it hasn't been shipped yet (est delivery 6th Dec).
1. When should I be able to pay the phone off?
2. It's a Verizon phone and when does the 3 day period start to avoid the activation charges?
Thank you!

How do I take advantage of the 1k verizon trade in if I plan to cancel within 3 days and pay in full to negate the activation charges?

It seems I can do one or the other but not both. This means that I either keep the line for 36months and just pay the unlimited ultimate (1k will offset the iphone 15 price, pay $100 monthly UU plan x 36) OR cancel the line within 3 days and pay the device in full (999 - 300 Walmart GC = 700+ tax), with auto unlock in 60 days.

Is this what I'm getting?
That is correct

Can anyone provide a definitive answer to this? If I buy a phone from Walmart.com, how do I go about getting in the trade in value for my old phone? Specifically for ATT. Thank you!
The trade in and how much you'll be getting in credit is thru Att not WM. Your contract is with ATT not WM. Therefore You'll trade in the phone to Att, not WM. After you get the phone go to the Att store and let them know

Wait you got the instant gift card now you're trying to return the phone? Don't be so shady bro.
Won't happen. WM states you have to return the gift card too. If you already used it.. then you have to buy another gift card worth $300 to get the refund.

Go to your carrier for the trade in. *DO NOT* trade in your phone at Walmart even if your are given that choice.

Both AT&T and Verizon's current trade-in offers are significantly better than what Walmart's wireless partner(s) can provide.

This has to do with the amount of money going directly to AT&T/Verizon as your monthly service plan payment... Your monthly payment on these pricey unlimited plans is used to subsidize the credits they give back in these special high dollar trade in promos.

Also, take advantage of the current high value trade-ins as soon as you can... the TI values and phone condition requirements are will almost certainly work against your once the current promos are over.
Trade in value is dependent on what promotion is going on when your contract starts not when you trade your phone in. If it's $1000 when you start your contract but is only $800 when you trade your phone in, you'll still get the $1k

Does it mean we could either get the $1000 credit by trading in Or the WM e-gift card offer? Can't get both at a time
No, that's not what it means.

Thanks. But I bought it just before midnight on the 23rd so I'm on day 4. Does the 3 day return window start from date of purchase or date of activation?
For ATT, the activation date start by the time tracking number show up on Walmart. Pretty much shipping date. But if you talk to CSR they will say it's the date you turn on the phone. So it's vary depending on the person who process your cancellation

Too good to be true. I looked at the invoice again and you are right. Under "Due monthly $0.00" and in very fine print (I am a senior with bad vision and had to blow it up on my monitor) it says "Price for 36 months....after $27.78/mo bill credit". Time to cancel my order, thanks.
What's the problem? Are you planning on leaving Att within the next 3 years?

Your best option is buy the phone, pay it off then cancel within 3 days. Since you are going to use with ATT prepaid plan so you don't need to worry about unlock. That's way you have iPhone 14+ for $329 + $68 tax
Honestly I'm not sure if you can put the AT&T prepaid eSIM on the locked iPhone. You should try this first before canceling to make sure it actually works (without unlock).
(This worked with physical SIMs so indeed it may work with eSIM).

If you want to save money on the plan, check out the tips I gave on the community wiki (above).

Anyone able to unlock Verizon phone after payoff ?
Sure, if you bought one with a physical SIM slot (Samsung). Not for the iPhones.

Ship date = activation date. You should be able to pay it off the next day, check the community wiki link to the iPhone 13 deal.
