Requires AT&T service and phone payment plan. You may want to include that in your title.

$58.xx is your sales tax which was paid to WM at POS so you paid off your device cost $829. What's the problem?
Ok .. I thought that 58.xx had included 23.xx device bill (1 out of 36 months)

Not true. Just got a T-mobile 15 Plus via upgrade on $20 Talk/Text only line this afternoon and already received the $300 gift card as well.
Good to know. I'll be going to Walmart tomorrow to try it out.

Yeah, they are willing to help. Just ask them how can you unlock it. And if they found the IMEI is in your account then they will say 60 days policy. If not they will try to submit ticket to unlock for you or try to find out which account connect to the IMEI

So I should admit that I am ATT customer? I tried to call via 611 and it hung up on me saying cant be completed on phone and sent me links to unlock (the regular URL) - wonder if I should try chat

Yeah, you can say you got a phone from your brother and trying to unlock for the trip. They are more willing to help if you are ATT customer

Chat asked me straight up while in my acct, may I know where you purchase device? I straight up lied and said my brother gave to me

Quote :
AT&T : Can I know where you have purchasedthe device?
Me : It was given to me by my brother
AT&T: Did you get awarranty replacement device through Apple in the past?
Me : No, never
AT&T : Got it.
AT&T : Scott, I tried unlocking the devicefrom my end, but it is showing as ineligible for the unlock because the DeviceShipment is Incomplete.
Me : What does that mean?
AT&T : This usually happens when you get areplacement device through Apple warranty. Let me create a case and escalatethis issue to our backend team and they will look into this further and checkwith the options to unlock the device for you.
Me : Ok thank you
AT&T: No worries.
AT&T : Please help me with your emailaddress to receive update once the case is closed.
Me : [email protected]
AT&T : Thank you.
Me : Sorry, that is incorrect email. May Iprovide a different one?
AT&T : Sure, no worries.
Me : [email protected]
AT&T : Thanks for waiting

AT&T: I have created acase to get the device unlocked. Here is the case number:
I thought maybe I should give them a random email instead of the one tied to my account, but too late, gave it anyway, not sure if he adds it to the case

"Device shipment is incomplete" - this means Walmart did not properly register IMEI with ATT or Apple when they shipped the device. Those farkers. They created same fiasco with the IPhone Mini deal but in that deal people at least got free phones

On a positive note I think they waived my activation fee, my fist bill was $50 for value plan with autopay plus $6 for some prorated days between time shipped and billing date plus taxes and fees about $61 total

Just tried again now. Looks like they haven't added the IMEI yet. Same error message ("We can't unlock this device because we can't locate it in our database of devices sold by AT&T. Please call us at 800.331.0500 for assistance.")
did you hear back from at&t? any luck of adding imei manually?

The error is "We can't unlock this device because we can't locate it in our database of devices sold by AT&T. Please call us at 800.331.0500 for assistance."
did you get any success?

So maybe Walmart botched this sale as well? All the people unable to unlock is because Walmart didn't send the order info to AT&T? Then you didn't need to even pay off the phone, but it would be locked to AT&T/mvno forever..
