Requires AT&T service and phone payment plan. You may want to include that in your title.

How did you create the Verizon account ?
Did they email you Account # or phone # on 11/23 ?
No, they did not email it to me. The phone number is avaliable at the time of checkout in the loan agreement document. If you didn't download the agreement docs while checking out, you can try reaching out to Walmart support or Verizon. They might be able to help.

Thoughts on database issue:
Firstly it's truly unbelievable a few of Walmart sales made the same mistakes at the same time. I doubt that it might be some other reasons on ATT's end (like system bugs). I even found lots of database error cases happened several months ago. Unfortunately, I have no clue so far, even if several conversations with AT&T supervisor. I believe we're gonna end up with no solution until it got fixed by AT&T. Hi, Forks! pls keep talking to AT&T, they are the one who should be responsible for the database error. Pls share yours if any.

I have the phone # from the Docs, but maybe have to wait until they ship for the website to recognize it. Trying to see if Walmart lets me Add a few lines to create a family plan

You can get as many as your credit or wallet allows. If you're paying full price for them, use the first gift card to pay down the price of the second.

Has anyone tried contacting Walmart escalations regarding this?

Here are the pertinent points:
  • The phones were properly activated prior to shipping because all you had to do was turn on the phone and by going through setup the eSim automatically activated to the phone number during online checkout
  • In the Black Friday rush, the Walmart employees failed to do an IMEI scan into the ATT (or is it Apple) database as being sold - of course I have no idea if there is a procedure for this in reality but this is what it seems like
Does the supervisor say anything about the 60 days?

Yes, you might need to wait until it's shipped. I was able to link the number to my VZ account only after it shipped. The line is activated only once they ship it.

I haven't tried contacting Walmart. Not sure they would be able to help.

I did contact ATT yesterday. The agent created a ticket for unlock request and today I received an email that my ticket is closed saying "we are unable to process your request at this time. Please visit us at att.com/deviceunlock to submit a request online". They didn't provide any additional details to explain why they are unable to unlock.

My guess is that they do have our phones in their database, but they don't want to unlock, because we haven't fullfilled the unlock reqs. The database message might just be a wrong message displayed. Just my guess.

Consider yourself exceptionally lucky. Essentially a free phone? Put in an unlock request and see if it goes through.

The only concern is if they comeback after a month to pay monthly device payment to t he phone as I cannot to trade in any phone after 30 days. Not sure of 500 GC too as I bought it online, did not receive it yet. Not sure of lucky or not yet. Customer rep says 'I need to wait 60 days after paying off device for unlock'.

I paid off the phone and cancelled within 48 hours but still received the bill of $55 from Verizon. I thought the cost would be much less than that. What should I do? TiA
