Requires AT&T service and phone payment plan. You may want to include that in your title.

You already canceled your plan? I am a little afraid to cancel the plan before the GC. I know Walmart in general does not see that but if I have tickets opened with ATT/WMT that involve each other they can see it.
Yes, I canceled mine within 3 days. I've not contacted walmart at all, only att.

I wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone else.

I tried the eSIM swap trick and it didn't work. I bought Iphone 15 pro on a new ATT line, once the line registered on my account, I paid it off. Then I swapped the new number onto an unlocked phone. However, this was a phone that was previously on the ATT network. Then, when I went to submit the unlock request, it gave me an error saying I needed to wait 60 days.

However, I then put the new number into an unlocked Verizon phone. I waited a couple hours and submitted the unlock request and it went through right away.

I have no idea if this mattered at all or if it would have cleared up anyways, but just wanted to point it out in case it helps.
I have paid off my device. Swapped the eSIM into unlocked iPhone. But while submitting the unlock request I am getting error as device is not paid off yet. Do you know how much time I need to wait for unlock request after paying off.
Did you received this error message? Pls guide.

Some say a couple of hours. I personally waited 24 hours before trying.

Since you cancelled within 3 days, you can call them and ask for activation fee refund ($35). They will credit that back to your account. Happened to me as well. The bill should actually be around $10, but I paid $19.87. I had no patience for further discussions with their CSR.

Same here , mine was 54.. going to call them see if they will waive off the activation fee
Thanks! What number did you call? How easy was it?

(800) 922-0204. Fairly easy, didn't take more than a couple of mins. They have to refund it as it's in their agreement docs.

Now that I have my new phone and it's activated, trying to understand if there's anything special I need to do to get my $350 credit through AT&T for my iPhone XR trade-in. There's nothing in the box or in my emails with instructions for exactly how to do this. I only see "Learn more about the AT&T Trade-in Program by visiting att.com/tradein" in the Walmart Wireless Event Terms & Conditions page. Is that what I'm supposed to use for the trade-in?

I am also getting the same message during unlock request. Were you able to unlock after certain duration?

my phone broke this week and I'm waiting for this deal to go live. I'm currently a happy visible customer paying $25/month. for a single line, I'm thinking it's going to work like this without a trade-in.
- single line base unlimited plan at vz is $60/month or $35/month more than visible
- order iphone 14 plus online
- pay $35 activation plus two months of service = $35+2*35 = $105
- head back to visible

so I'm going to lose about $105, probably closer to $150 once all fees are paid, of value of gift card. I can't cancel earlier because the phone is locked and I don't have a spare.

make sense? other ideas?
That's what I'm doing. I was thinking about activating on Visible, if the restriction is a retailer flex, but I'm not sure I want to take the risk. I am not sure if Verizon would automatically open lines for me just because I have an installment contract with them. Safest is going with Verizon for a month or two, then migrating back to Visible.

Does anyone know if paying off the phone or taking phone off the account could disqualify GC ?

All right, just wanted to share my experience with online Verizon phone order.

1) 11/22 - placed an online order
2) 11/23 - shipped
3) 11/23 - I created my Verizon account, and added credit card to payment methods
4) 11/24 - Paid off via bot (800-837-4966)
5) 11/25 - Cancelled my line via Verizon chat
6) 11/26 - Phone delivered
7) 11/26 - purchased $15 TracFone plan ($10 with Autopay enabled) and activated the phone with that
8) 11/27 - Called TFW unlock department to submit unlock request (1-888-442-5102)
9) 11/30 - Called TFW again to check status after 72h have passed (was told to call on 12/1 again)
10) 12/1 - Called TFW again - device unlocked

When I canceled my line on 25th, I checked on sickw.com and it showed my phone sim lock status as reseller flex policy, so that is why I decided to go with TFW. Before cancelling, phone was showing as locked to Verizon.

IMPORTANT: YMMV! This unlock might not work the same for you. TFW unlock policy clearly states that you need to wait for 60 days after activation, before they will unlock your device (https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/)

Now I just need to figure out how to unlock my ATT phone. Smilie
@Massa89 - where you able to pay off just thru the bot? On entering the phone number and pin, it says that pay off is now done thru the chat link and that says device isnt eligible for pay off - ugh

Update: NVM- realized that my payment method did not get saved on my account even though I had done it initially. Once I re-saved it, it was all set. Was able to payoff thru the bot.

I purchased and activated the phone in store. After I paid off the phone and cancelled the line, I looked up the IMEI on sickw.com and got the message, "2387 - US Verizon Locked Policy". Does it mean I need to wait for 60 days for it to automatically unlock?

Also, the eSim from Verizon is still present in my phone. Is that the reason the phone is still locked to Verizon? What if I remove the eSim? Would it change the lock to reseller like others who cancelled their lines before first booting up the phones?

Thanks for sharing.

Maybe after Dec 13th we have some better luck with unlocking the phone. I've not tried yet with friends ATT eSIM. If I do later this week, I'll post an update here. I've activated cricket free trial on the phone, just to try if that changes anything, but no luck. Cricket eSIM works fine, but didn't help with the unlock.

ATT closed my ticket but when I click on the link there is zero information on how they resolved it. Unlock portal still showing that device is connected to an account, even though there is still the underlying database error

sickw.com for my s23 plus shows carrier as Verizon, does that mean it is locked to Verizon ?
