I have this laptop that I bought a week or so ago from the same deal that had temporarily expired. I also bought an extra 8 GB of ram for a total of 16 GB because only 8gb seems abysmal for even having a few tabs and something else in the background open. So about $500 total including the ram upgrade, after tax. If anyone is wondering, this laptop with the 2050 4GB has DDR5 RAM at 4800MHz whilst the 3050 6GB model has DDR4 3200MHz RAM if anyone is looking to upgrade the ram. Just FYI, the back panel takes time to remove but eventually it does come out.

Now, as per it's pros and cons.

I heard that 250 nits wasn't a lot of brightness but it is more than enough for me and I have never used this at full brightness. The screen colors are fine and everything. People have been complaining about screen wobble, but in my opinion, it is wayy overstated and barely noticeable. Keyboard is nice and the numpad is an added bonus as I use it regularly. It also has a neat little calculator button near the numpad so that's nice. There is a backlight that can either be toggled on or off, but you can't change the brightness. Unlike some other gaming laptops, this has a nice design and doesn't look tacky. The build quality is alright, you get what you pay for. Not too shabby, but it is mostly just plastic.

The only thing that I don't really like about the laptop is the fans make a slight whistle if you do anything slightly more than browsing. It's kind of quiet but very noticeable. I don't know if it's just my model or it's a common thing with all models. Even if I put it in quiet or eco mode, the noise still persists.

I'll be honest, battery life kinda sucks. So if you're going to be using a laptop for more than 3 hours or so on battery, I would not recommend this. Battery drains faster than I'd like.

Overall, it's a fine laptop for the price.
Compared to the walmart one for $480 the difference was only visible in a very small select few games like the Witcher, but in most games less than a 10% difference in FPS so not big. That being said the 3050 is a 40watt TDP in the $480 one, the 3050TI is a very noticeable difference $500 (gateway microcenter) and the no longer on sale for $550 3050 6GB 85watt (I believe it was) from best buy is a extreme difference, 30-40% more FPS in a lot of games.
It's 250nits
Max memory support is 16gb
Has one usb 3.2 that's a display port 1.4

Yeah, I don't know much about graphics cards so how much better is the rtx3050 (laptop version) in that MSI than the graphics card in this laptop here?

Thanks for the good information. Is there a decent used market for the discrete graphic card? I don't game but like the more powerful processor.

Not sure I under your question about a decent used market, so I am going to guess this is what your asking?

For desktops yes, not for laptops since they are usually integrated and soldered into the motherboards. Desktop graphic cards sell on the used markets like ebay all the time, including offerup, especially since the crypto craze collapsed tons of used cards to be had. Laptops all have their chasis built around a graphics card so you cant really buy a used card and swap it in to a existing laptop, you will run into issues. Mostly you will just have to buy a used laptop with the graphics card you want, and yes a lot of laptops being sold used or refurbished with graphics cards.

I read that from HP support. I think you can go higher depending on bios maybe. I think this is typical. Why not Try for 64gb lol

It would not perform as well as the laptop. The laptop also has a higher refresh rate and resolution. So in theory a laptop like this will play games better because it has a dedicated graphics card. I guess it depends on what you plan on doing. Most reviews like the portability of the Steam Deck more than the power. Ran across a rumor of a new version of the Steam Deck coming out.
