I mean not just that but only 8gb of ram and the abysmal screen.
Asus had the 2022 G14 for $699 recently and that would wipe the floor with this.
You are compering a $700 laptop vs a $480 laptop..... that's $220 saving right there and you can game on it. what's wrong with that? There's people with different budgets, not everyone can afford the lasted tech.

But people should spend that money wisely. This HP won't age well, and it has a lot to do with the internals.
I know the hinges are a little bit bad. but the internals?? you mean the Ryzen 5 7000 gen?? or the 8 GB DDR5 Ram at 4888? or the Gen 4 SSD m.2? because so far the only thing old there is the RTX 2050.
For under $500, this is pretty solid. It's less money than a ROG Ally.
RAM and SSD could be upgraded down the line.
At this size, 1080P is higher PPI than a 32 inch 4k.
I like it.

For those whining and complaining, please show us the other entry level gaming laptops below $500
I'm saying you shouldn't even consider them. Save a little more. Mow some lawns, deliver some food. Not even sure someone should be buying a gaming laptop if they can't find a way to save another few hundred bucks for something much more worthwhile.
