If needing for a PS5 you should buy the one with a heatsink. For $5 more this one has a faster read and write speed.

too big to add in a laptop,you must buy 3rd party heatsink
YOu can consider t500 for 13$ more,faster and more power efficient.but some review sites mentioned lower speed in huge transfers(in the range of 500gb for a 2tb drive)

New to SSD. Could this be put in an external SSD enclosure and used as a fast SSD drive? It seems like an overkill, but the price is pretty good.

I have the Nexstorage 4GB in my rig and it will burn you to the touch when running full file copy or gaming. It needs the heatsink 100%.

Does your laptop support 4th Gen NVME? If not, the SK Hynix P31 is considered the best laptop SSD as it sips power and is keeps cool, and better thermals means better battery longevity.

Not sure. I'm not an expert by any means, I just remember a lot of people on Slickdeals and Reddit basically said the SK Hynix P31 is the best for laptops with some testing backing it up and a good warranty. For sure we'll continue to see sales on SSDs.


I'm just looking for a great deal on a gen 4 for the PS5.

The Crucial P3 and P5 regular and Plus and T500 models are on the list for supported drives for this laptop (2022 Asus G513RM-WS74), but "supported" doesn't necessarily mean "won't roast your nuts when on your lap".
