ELI5 why? Especially vs what is supposed to be a much better sub?

I'm looking at setting up my own home theater in a 16x30 room with a 160" screen and a 4K projector and while the screen and projector aren't too difficult to choose, the whole audio setup is exceptionally complicated. Especially with a large room where we're using half for a chilling area/theater and the other for like ping pong and a bar.

5.1.2, 7.1.4, 9.2.4, etc. It's all getting to be a lot I'm about to just do a 5.1.2 with some upfiring floors and a big woofer, especially since I'm probably just going to run conduit on a wall so I don't kill myself running wiring, lol

How does this compare to the 15"SPL that was on sale a few year back for 500? Are they still having ample issues ???

Would one of this be better than my dual SVS PB-1000?
I also am interested to hear input on this.

As far a deeper notes yes, u may get a fuller bass from the 2 pb-1000's.

I went from 2 pb- 2000's to dual SPL-150SW and they destroyed the pb-2000's I currently have both sets hooked up just eq the pb-2000 higher so it doesn't get muddy.

Everything I've read says 5.1.2 or 5.1.4 is the best practical setup. 5.1.4 if you are able to put the atmos in your ceiling if not 5.1.2 with front firing atmos is the most practical and you can always add from there if you go with a bigger receiver.

I had in my cart earlier at $699 and it let me place the order just now for that price. Hopefully it won't get canceled.

Lol, everyone was jumping on that open box Monoprice 13 a few weeks ago for cancellation emails. This is actually a good deal.

Sure. You can never have "too much sub". You simply turn down the volume to the appropriate level.
