Bought 2 to replace my previous Klipsch 2xSPL100. Wish the RP 1600SW was on sale like this.
Give it another year. And the RP1600 will be discounted deeply.

A lot of variables play into that.
Ask your neighbor if he will let you audition within your own setup.
If it performs well for the $450, offer him $400
See if he bought it directly from SVS, if so when and if he has proof.
SVS warranty if transferrable.

They haven't offered me a return & refund, or partial credit offer. I called them a couple times, emailed photos, and a follow up email, and the best information I've gotten so far is UPS will pick it up next business day so they can inspect the damage, and nothing will happen until their claim with UPS is resolved.

If they had said, "oh, sorry about that, want to return it for a refund?" I would have agreed and re-ordered the replacement sub myself no problem.
Something that wasn't obvious. When I sent my photos they didn't receive them but never mentioned it. Apparently they can only receive 5mb messages at a time. So I had to send them 1 photo at a time. But I never got a bounce back or anything. I eventually had to ask them if they ever received photos and they said no.

On Wednesday I received my RP-1400SW that I ordered last Saturday from this deal. Box was looking good, looked well treated in shipment.

Then today my RP-8000F pair from the other deal arrived. Was getting excited connecting everything up and getting it settled in the right place. First test run and the light on the front of the unit powered up but zero sound from it. I spent an hour going over the connections. When trying the LFE from my receiver I would only get the sides making audio. Same with the test tones. Then I took the known good rca cable from the mixer/controller and put them directly in to the sub and nothing. Out of ideas I then tried to call Klipsch but closed for the holidays.

So I opened a ticket on their support site, sad that I was probably looking at an RMA and a lot of hassle. I opened the ticket and after I did so it directed me to some FAQ articles on a variety of things. One of them was how to troubleshoot the amp. https://support.klipsch.com/hc/en...-Subwoofer

I did the buzz test in the article and didn't get anything from the sub. I didn't think I really wanted to open it up since it was brand new, but I figured that the next section that explained the way to check for a loose wire pretty much gave me permission to open it up. (Be careful to unplug the LED connector before you pull it too far away, you only have a few inches slack).

Fun surprise,... the positive cable was broken off from the terminal as shown in the pic (the terminal is in front of the right big black capacitor and the red wire is in the background). One trip down the road to get a crimp tool from the hardware store later and it is good as new, but a bit frustrated. Just wanted to share unless someone else got one like it.

This thing really shakes the house in the best possible way, so far it's really great.

Thanks for that! Made me a little nervous, so I checked..... 4.4Mb. Just made it, haha

Waiting for mine.

It should be soldered or wrapped... or both.

Well, smr is wrong a lot, and he posts a lot, but he's been pretty on target in this thread. I've... painfully... upvoted him a few times here. Not even down once. Frown

Add another one to the damaged by UPS. Bottom portion of the box was completely mangled, missing one flap and left in a way so it wasn't apparent until lifted. The box is already opened. I'm not going to unpackage any further. Going to contact Adorama and return for a refund.

WTF UPS. You have one job, deliver it intact. MadMad

Be glad yours was obvious a UPD fark up.
My last sub I got from Adorama was 100% boxed solid with no marks. Opened it up and the one corner of the enclosure was mangled up.
I ended up not replacing it because I was not overly thrilled with Adorama's RMA process. I guess it was "fair" but it look longer than I liked so I just said screw it and refund my money.

I think all the UPS dudes in my area are watching the opening scene of Ace Ventura in the mornings before work to get hyped up or something.

I'd be embarrassed to hand over some of the packages I've gotten in the last week from them.

I got a damaged Subwoofer delivered. The same happened to 8000F speakers too. I feel like Adorama is acting as a reseller for the damaged boxes from Klipsch. I got another package from Bestbuy and another from Amazon via UPS from Accoustic sound design which doesn't even have a scratch

Got my 1400 delivered by UPS on Wednesday damage free.. the box did have a huge gouge on the side but thankfully no issues here, I'm in California and the sub was shipped from Utah dc.

If you're on a tight budget though, getting the Samsung Q990c soundbar when it is ~$850 is probably the best value you can get. Audiophiles may poopoo on that advice, but it really can't be beat for the money when it is on sale.
While I may not disagree on the "value", this isn't a smart purchase. Mostly because you'll find out how inadequate soundbar systems are and want to replace it, so either you're out $850, or if you're able to sell the soundbar system (good luck) you're still out whatever loss you have to take to sell it.

What damage did you see on the sub?

Depends on what you mean by "like this". It was on sale for under $1200 earlier... so I picked it up. But if you're waiting on 1/2 price, you'll likely have to wait until the next gen of subs are out and places are working on clearing out stock.
