3800H on sale price will be better because, you can buy a power amplifier for the price difference.
Price is good. Missing Auro 3D and Dirac Live. If you are not looking for them, it is good for the price.

X3800h is $999 for refurb right now, I just snagged that. I might be a little salty if the $1000 brand new sale comes back.

It was just on sale for $1k. I grabbed a 3800h with two D17s for $1700 from Adorama. Depending on how much you value the D17s, that's $800-$1k for the 3800h, and that deal is still available.

Excellent deal on a now 3-year old receiver. It will possibly come a little lower but not a ton (maybe 1k refurbished when the replacement comes out ~next year) unless you need IMAX/auto 3D or dirac live you won't regret buying this as it's got (working) HDMI 2.1 ports and unless you have some insanely power hungry speakers, you won't need to explore external amplification but it's ready when you need it...

Edit: Remove the two audio negatives, just after release firmware added full support for IMAX and Auro-3D. Really is an excellent receiver that should last you until your situation needs either external amplification or hdmi 2.2...

This is an amazing receiver that I own and it's close to being one of the top Denon models that's actually made in Japan. At 1449 it's a steal for a new receiver. I paid 2100 for a refurb 2 years back since it was at 3k. The newer x6800h is $3500!!! It's not nearly worth 2k extra for imax and auro 3d..It can easily drive 4 ohm speakers and the sound clarity and warmth it outputs comes close to only a few select receivers. It also runs very cool, almost as cool as Pioneer elite (older s99 model with D3 amps)... I don't let it decode any video signal since LG OLED is doing a great job at it at 120hz...it has Atmos which more than I need and iMax is useless to me... Unless you have bluerays with iMax audio tracks, none of the streaming services, nor Kodi streams will have anything better and it's plenty for 7 or 9.2.

IMAX (and auro 3d) are object based surround modes like dolby's atmos. Having support should improve the audio experience. (People report better experiences with auro 3d mode vs dolby's on sources that weren't encoded with atmos...)
