The reliability over cheaper brands. I have around 70 light bulbs+lights by Hue that are split between 2 bridges. 3 years in and everything has worked like a charm.

I do have a closet using a motion sensor and that takes less than a second to turn on as soon as it detects motion.

I am a happy customer but the price is steep.
Hue is the gold standard for a reason. They just work. The hub-based approach frees up WiFi bandwidth and means that accessories work quickly and reliably. Plus, the batteries in remotes and motion sensors and the like last a good long while because they use Zigbee instead of Wi-Fi.
Best Buy has the 60W equivalent version3 for $80 [bestbuy.com].

Might be a better deal if you don't need the extra brightness (these are 75W equivalent), and, of course, you need more than one.

How good are hue bulba? I have some Wyze bulbs that are great for some uses but automating it with motion sensors is kinda slow since its cloud-based. I'm looking at TP-Link and hue bulbs but what makes hue bulbs worth its price?

All very good points. I appreciate a very thought out post.

To add to that i would like to add that hue system is based on zigbee protocol that runs on 2.4ghz radio frequency . It does chew into your 2.4 ghz airspace.

As long as your channels are separate from your wifi and hue hub channels you shouldn't see any interference issues.

While I Cannot compare Hue to Wyze, I have experience with other budget brands that are "just the same, but cheaper" — same, as in they all emit light I guess...
Hue products in my experience are superior in many ways: Color reproduction, brightness across the product lines is unmatched. Especially noticable when you mix bulbs, strips, fixtures. Everything is the same quality. You get a user-friendly app that just works. It's easy to integrate in smart homes (even my older Gen products got Matter support through update of the hub). Phillips support is quick and painless.
E.g. I moved from EU to US and got all my power plug Adapters for the hue pricks sent to me for free.

Hue is on zigbee with the hub, so you don't pollute your own network with Bluetooth and wifi for every single bulb (not 100 % if that is technically correct?)

I never paid more than 25 per bulb. Look for deals on packs of 4 for example.

I look for deals on Hue lights. I love my Hue light collection and won't go with another brand when colored lights are being considered. For example, I picked up 4 Hue outdoor path lights for about $9.30/each. I have a bunch of other Hue lights. This isn't a horrible deal for these specific bulbs.

I have a ton of hue in my house starting all the way from the first generation. I've never had a bulb go bad, and the built-in dimming is way better than any LED bulb on its dimmer switch. My only real complaint is I wish the purple had a deeper color to it for Halloween. Same with the orange but that color is a little bit more on point but is still a little washed out with white. I also wished there were more effects built into the bulbs themselves. Some of my LED can do a fire or candle effect which is nice but limited. You can't really run changing effects over zigbee very well. These are tempting juat because they are brighter than the current 800 lumen bulbs I have. They are mostly bright enough, but in a few places I wish it was brighter. My home assistant integration works flawlessly with Hue. Home assistant gives a Platinum quality rating to the hue hub because it just works and works well. It is pretty fast to respond in real time when dragging the color wheel around in the hue app. Whatever you do don't get anything that is wifi based unless you just want to suffer constant disconnect problems. The zigbee protocol that hue uses is a mesh protocol. The more devices you have, the more solid the network gets. If you only have one zigbee device and it is far away from your hub you may have connection issues. I have 51 devices on my hue hub, and it is rare that something doesn't respond the first time. You can even add other zigbee lights to your hue hub. I have a few cheap Chinese LEDs under my bed connected to my hub. Those are the only devices that don't always turn on the first time for whatever reason. Usually I just have to try to turn it on again. They even show up in my hue app to control that way if I want. Now I just have to decide if I want one of these larger lumen bulbs.

I use both and Hue are better overall. Wyze bulbs don't have as many colors. Greens and purples are much better on Hue.

Any issues with sunset/ sunrise automation? I gone on boards and asked around but I can't find solution. The lights turn on at sunset but turn off before sunrise. I even automated two sets of times. Like on at sunset off at 9:37. On at 9:38pm off at sunrise and still it shuts off before sunrise.

I thought mine had a mind of their own for a bit. Turned out a third party app I had was still controlling some. Ended up resetting them through the hue app and worked fine
