Always new customers. Port your number to google voice, use this new plan to create a throw away number and then forward all calls to that number from google voice. When the 3 minths are up, pop in a new sim, activate and get a new number and then change your forwarding number to that new number and done. Rinse and repeat. You will always be able to use these deals then as a new customer
I've been doing this for my family and I for years. Google voice has saved us thousands
There are a few cons, which I dont think are deal-breakers (I've had Google Voice for years now):

You need an Android phone for seamless experience. On iPhone you need to use the app to make call. This is usually not a huge problem, but it is a PITA especially if you also use Apple Car play (siri-assisted calls/sms goes through phone's primary number)
Some banks (the only one I have trouble with is Chase.. there maybe others) don't do OTPs with Google Voice number. I just use the actual SIM's number for that.
Because you keep switching your real number to take advantage of new-customer offers all the time (you dont have to, but you do if you want cheapest price), you get assigned random numbers that random people have used to register at all kinds of sites. This usually means lots of spam calls. If you have a Pixel phone (or some other spam call filter), this is easily dealt with, but you need to

I still have a google voice number, but these drawbacks now annoy me enough so google voice is no longer my primary. But if your priority is to save money , there is nothing like Google Voice and taking advantage of those new-customer MVNO deals (I've lost count of Mint/Boost/Redpocket deals I've taken advantage of).

Thanks just chatted in and got $10 + tax refunded too.

What did you say to get them to give the refund. I have been rejected two times by their chat agents, one saying this is a circle offer so can't refund. The other one said we can't apply new offers to old orders. Thanks
I said I just bought the sim with a $30 offer and now there is a $40 offer. Can they help match the offer as I just received it recently?

They said unfortunately no as gift card offers cannot be matched.

Don't say anything for a minute. They say but customer satisfaction I'll refund $10, do you accept?

uh no. Using 15GB.month one as an example - $60 for 100% chance of 6 month service on Mint website = $10/month.
$60 + $40 target GC for 3 months of service, MAYBE 50% chance of 6 month service. It's definitely cheaper with Target ($6.67/month) if you treat Target GC the same as cash, not withstanding the chance of an even better deal if they give you 6 months.
For me it's a no brainer as somehow I don't get charged tax or 911/Comm fees by purchasing from Target but do through Mintmobile.com
What's with the "maybe 50% chance of 6 months service?" Are you saying they may give the extra 3 months because of BF even though you didn't go through the Mint website?

But I checked the 5GB plan, MM website 3+3 after fees and tax would be $56.16 or $9.36/month for 6 months. Target pickup order (as it is charging shipping even though it says free shipping) comes to 46.27 after tax - $30 GC + $45 for the 2nd 3 months comes to $61.27 or $10.21/month for 6 months. Although I don't know if Mint tacks on fees once you go to the regular plan plus you may have to pay for the whole year at that point to get $15/month if you can't find another deal. You can't just say 3 months is cheaper than 6 months when you only get the discount for those first 3 months.

Can you pm me or just reply with the cons of having your main number with Google voice? I find that I don't always receive calls when I give them my Google voice number and am hesitant to port my main number to one of my many Google accounts!
There aren't really many cons. If you lose or break your phone, or you don't want to pay for service for a few days/months, you can still make calls and texts via pc on your Voice number using your google voice account. You do need to set up your browser to allow sound to be played by google. Your number can't be hacked by normal cell phone methods because its an IP number. Always get the best introductory deals from any MVNO. Prank call your friends with your new cell number every 3 months, because you can use either number(voice or MVNO) to call if you chose. The only real downside is putting a sim in your phone slightly more often. But now with esims, even that's kinda moot.

Looks like shipping is still $5.99; not free... Target site says "Tax and promotional discounts aren't included in the $35 price calculation.

if you buy more than $200 it's free shipping. I did it with 2 20gigs plan(75-60gc=15/3m)+one umlimited(90-60gc=30/3m)
I also redeemed 15%off giftcard on this prepaid SIM

The google voice app handles all your calls, sms, vm, etc on the web, like a proxy. Your local sim merely provides data, the phone number is irrelevant. Pure VOIP is how I use it. There's an option where voice can use your local carrier as a relay, but its all masked by google voice number. Works great, I was an early adopter back when it was just to fix the crappy ass voicemail systems the phone providers made. Kinda like Google Desktop was a fix for Microsoft not providing any kind of decent indexed search of your system.

Voice has really come a long way from those days
Man i've had my voice number forever. I loved that back in the day (not sure if you can now) you could select what numbers you wanted in your new number, and it would bring up a list of available numbers, and let you pick the one you wanted.

It was a bit of a rough stretch when they flip flopped apps between google hangouts, and voice, but that settled itself eventually.

They even let you make wifi cell phone calls without requiring service, but at some point, they required that you had cell phone service to make calls. I had free wifi phone for a while. Everyone everywhere had open wifi, so you could pretty much use it in any urban/suburban environment.

If you add more than $5 pickup order in same transaction shipping fee of $5.99 will be removed perfectly.
Also don't forget to activate target circle offer like $10 reward after two $50 purchase or $20 reward after three $70 purchase.

Not sure why you are adding $45 to to the 2nd 3-month for Target. No way I would be paying regular price for that 2nd 3-month. If theres no SD available by then, I already have a couple of $15 for 3 months boost mobile sims ready to be activated.
For me no fees or taxes are charged thru target but are charged thru mint website
As for the bonus 3-month, there's a lot of posts in another thread that based off past years mint plans activated thru Best buy / target during Black Friday sales would have 3 months tacked on too. Based off DPs so far this year, not looking very good, but I guess there's still a chance

You give the bank the phone number that Mint gave you.

So you're porting your main number to Google Voice where it acts as a call forwarding service right?

Does this still work if you have an iPhone and want to continue to use iMessage and FaceTime through your main number?

Don't know how they can enforce it. No way they can track the sim card number from retailers, unlike those sold directly from Mint website. I recent activated a Mint sim card that I bought from BB two years ago, and it's still good for 3 month, although there's a fine print there like 'activate within 45 days of purchase'.

Does it expire 45 days after purchase (like mintmobile.com) ?
