I will say, I just experienced my first direct dealings with Samsung to purchase an S9 ultra. I've been holding out since the s8 ultra was announced and finally hit my mark with some weird pricing through their app that made the 512gb s9 ultra under $800.

After 12 mysteriously cancelled purchases in a row, 6 or 7 chat conversations with "customer service" agents who refused to answer any questions or provide any service other than aggressively push for me to agree to purchase a cart they "built" with "great deals" where I couldn't even see the price.... 3 phone calls where I sat on hold (even though they called ME) for 20 minutes just to have a machine hang up on me... and several pending charges on my credit card that are taking an awfully long time to go away:

I finally managed to give them my money. And honestly I want to return it just from the experience of trying to buy it.

Considering that all this was the experience of trying to GIVE them money, I can only imagine what it would be like if I was trying to get my money back.
Will this drop anymore for Black Friday?
Was wanting this but I hear Samsung customer service is trash

If you had seen their recent BF deals where the phone deals were in their app only and yet mysteriously wouldn't work in the app, then you would have found a similar experience. They're a very shady company in my opinion and I do not trust them at all.

Oh and when they say it is $1349 before trade they lie, some of the discounts disappeared if you activated a trade in on their cart they setup for you. Keep in mind I was accessing the app on an S9 Ultra and it only acted this way for their unlocked phone deals. Oh and the final price would be the same as any other day with an EDU deal and a trade in, it was a huge scam.

Absolute garbage... By far the worst customer support I've ever encountered. Pray you don't have to interact with them.

Yep, the worst for such large reputable company.

I claimed warranty on my malfunctioning Buds Live I bought from Verizon. After filling in the model, serial number, proof of purchase, they told me to send it. A few days later, they told me my serial number is international version and the warranty is not valid. I just couldn't convince them. I had to file report at BBB and the respondant there tried to argue with me that international versions don't have a warranty. Then she finally checked the serial number again and told me it is indeed a US version resolved it. It took a couple months of many emails/phone calls, and hair pulling. If I saw one for frequent sale price of $60, I would have done that.

Is there any kind of VESA mount support for this? Ideally I'd like to have two of them stacked horizontally with VESA mounts for productivity.

I've had to return a sound bar and a monitor, both in the last 12 months, and it went smoothly for me.

No USB C and 1800R curve for this size is a hard pass.

How is the monitor for work? I'm a software engineer with 3 monitors and am thinking of replacing them with something like this.
text fringe is terrible. if you're looking at text all day, you don't want a qd-oled as a main working monitor. I've given it a fair try and the "blurry/soft" text made me constantly rub my eyes. for media/gaming consumption, qd-oled is great though.

Yes it will run it, but on some games you will have to tone down settings. I think you really would want a 3080 or a 4070/4080 to get the full experience with this monitor. Its pixel count is close to 4k, and you will have a hard time running most new games anywhere near 240 FPS with that many pixels.

But the review I watched really does make this an enticing monitor for games that support this widescreen format
Fourtnite and Bioshock look so good that it makes the entire purchase worth it, But their are only a few games that really can use this wide of a screen. the colors are so good!

That's such a bummer because I really wanted it to be good for office work, and then gaming after work

Some people notice it more than others. I have this and I see it, but it doesn't affect my use of it. You get used to it after a little bit. But that being said, I don't use this as an office / productivity monitor so it might be different if you're reading text for 8 hours a day.

I wish I didn't notice it as much but it makes me rub my eyes cause it looks "blurry". For work it becomes unbearable very quickly for me. But man, it's so great for video games.

It's pretty heavy. Had to replace the tilt screw on my mount otherwise it would just tilt down. Got a nice stainless steel bolt and it made things much easier. The included bolt would strip from all the pressure required to keep it in place.

Crap. This is my use case too. I understand the first gen was bad, I thought they improved it in this one. 😞
