During covid "some" people would buy these and sell the 3080 for 1500 and have a free system.
During Covid you could not find these for $1500. I bought a 3080 one for $2200 and returns it because it was a ridiculous price.

500D. I put this in a 500D and it has been perfect.
If switching the case fixes the issue, the problem is not the CPU or GPU fans, so it should be fixable WITHOUT switching the case.

Why not just switch fans for quieter ones or replace side panel and add fans?

No one seems to be able to answer...

The case is a problem because of the size and design does not allow for good air flow. With a 500D case there is more internal space for cooling plus lots of space to add more fans. Also the fans that came with this are not good. I switched the cpu fans for better ones and added 3 fans in the front and, one in the back and used the fans that came with it on top. I also changed the thermal paste. It's been amazing since.

Thank you. I would make holes for better airflow and more fans before switching the case, which is an enormous hassle and could break it. laugh out loudLMAO

Another possibility is placing the computer in another room, with wires coming in through the wall as I already have small holes.

Appreciate the detailed response, repped!

Looks like I'd have to replace the CPU fan and/or thermal paste as well.

What a hassle. Forget it. shake head

Important to read these reviews before buying:

I for one am NOT going to work all day playing pseudo wackamole trying to fix it.

Bad reviews:

Everything was perfect about this ROG Strix Asus, killer deal, I mean, 1300 for an rtx 3080, sounds like a dream, that is until it started showing its true colors. I started experiencing artifacts 2 days into it, not even next level use cases, basic usage for a card of this caliber. A complete disappointment, I wanted to leave a glowing 5✨️ review for this but it's almost impossible, its a birthday present for myself, and now I must return it, I wish that I could just get a replacement instead of either refund through walmart or RMA to manufacturer; Because i really wanted this, but I got the bad hand and must deal with it as a problem and not as a present.... I'm just so frustrated, I worked on this all day everyday for weeks, I worked on this after I got off work, on my birthday, it was like wackamole trying to troubleshoot. I Couldn't even finish the review on the thing itself, i had to use my phone

Great PC.. Bad Components
Unfortunately, this PC has crashed nearly every game I've played. When running correctly, it's FPS quality is amazing. The fans are a bit loud, but keep the machine fairly cool. Not sure if I just got a bad singular part, but nothing has resolved my issues. Returning for a refund and looking elsewhere. Posted a couple pics to show what was happening in Diablo.

prepare to spend money to upgrade the cooling
The problem with all ROG Strix (or all ASUS PC with same case and similar cooling) is the cooling is so bad. Go research yourself on All the websites selling these PCs. Every single one has the problem. Playing CS2 makes the CPU temp to 85 C. The stock CPU and case fan are useless and the case fan is so loud. Only wish I knew before I bought it. I installed the Peerless Assassin CPU cooler and the CPU temp dropped 30 C to 55 C. I am waiting for the new Arctic case fan to arrive. The problem I have now is the CPU cooler is half an inch too high, I can't put the glass panel back on. It is not a problem for me, but may be someone else. I believe they have been using the design for many years. With older less powerful CPUs they can get away with it, but not with newer gen CPUs. With so many complaints online, I can't believe the manufacturer has not updated their design. My recommendation is buy it only when it is on sale, and prepare to spend money to upgrade the cooling right after receiving the PC.

Don't get me wrong, amazing PC for the price and best deal on great gaming PC specs for the whole year,
but I hate hassles. I would want it to have good airflow and a good CPU cooling fan, right out of the box.

I guess that's why the price is so low.

Great deal OP. Quality components for cheap for those thinking of moving from PS5 to PC. I have built many custom PCs so case swap is no big deal if necessary.

Replacing the thermal paste is very easy to do. if you own PCs or consoles, it is a good skill to have as the paste can dry out and needs to be replaced every few years.

The case sucks.
That's why switching the case fixed it.

Not at all, the gpu will max out with cpu running 50-60%, max.

You could build an equivalent system for around this price with quality components, for example: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xtmvbL $1087.82 but featuring:
i7-12700KF (unlocked variant of this CPU which allows for overclocking)
Upgraded CPU cooler
DDR-5
RTX 4070 which is on par with the 3080 but has DLSS 3.0 + Frame Generation while consuming less wattage
Significantly better case

Or just buy this system + the $55 case and swap over the components for about the same price. Swapping over a motherboard, gpu and power supply is a piece of cake compared to what it was like building PC's 10+ years ago.

Yes I've done it many times, it's just too much of a hassle.
