Decent enough deal. Retails for like $21 normally. I got it for $19 on the last Prime Day. Works great, even without a subscription, does the basic features I need (open and close garage remotely, check if its open remotely etc).

Don't expect more than phone app use. Any automations/integrations including Siri, Alexa and Homekit are now behind overpriced subscriptions.

I cannot recommend people stay away from this thing enough. It is unreliable. They have been disputing with third party integrations and have made some bad product choices. Please avoid

Beg to differ. Mine has been working solidly for 2 years. It definitely is annoying that they gave started putting ads in their app right above the garage control button. But functionally it still works.

I guess if you are using the app everytime maybe it works? I'm sure the ad revenue provides some incentives to make sure something works

If you use the app it works fine, but if you want to set it up with some integration it's unreliable. They want you to pay for third party access.

I recently switched to a Meross opener and works great with Home Assistant and HomeKit.

Had this for more than 7 years. Last 5 has been working perfectly. I just really wish they came out with a magnet sensor to use on swing gate openers. Their older sensors that relied on a metal ball could be adapted but the new ones use a chip accelerometer which does not work with gates. Does anyone come across any solutions to use with this opener?

Funny seeing all the people complaining they they need to have a digital assistant.... To open their garage. It works for its main use, hitting open on the phone app. That's all I bought it for and it works every time.

I integrated the older MyQ hub G0301 to the Ring app. It works flawlessly without the intrusive ads on MyQ app, Apple HomeKit and Google Home are gone for good. None cares anymore. Both have not made any serious credible smart home device for many years.

Even with the app, they keep pushing more ads into it.

These jackasses just disabled third party API access. Had it working nicely with HomeBridge so I could close the garage shut off the lights etc. with one scene at night. I was actually looking to buy one of their garage door openers to replace my 20+ year old one, now I need to find something else because I'm certainly not going to support this kind of anti-consumer behavior.

It's more than just digital assistants, they've locked things down to the point where you can't do any integration with smart home automation devices. Essentially took it away from users that already bought in for that very purpose. Couple that with ads being displayed in their app and I wouldn't give them a dime. There's many other options not locked to the whim of a corporation that doesn't give a deuce about their customers and then make excuses to make it sound like it was done for the good of the community.

I'm in the market for something like this, but I'm seeing a lot of negativity. Anyone have recommendations for an alternate solution that would work better than this?

I echo concerns of integration. Using ifttt, I would have my garage lights turn on when the garage was open and shut off when the garage was closed. For the past 2 months or so, it doesn't work anymore. It was only after contacting ifttt support that I learned it was MyQ that caused the problem. Not happy about it at all. See for yourself at http://status.ifttt.com
