Agreed… tier list :

G3 > S90C > G2 > C2/C3
$2500 is a lot of money to spend on a TV with dated tech. There is a big difference between MLA/QD-OLED and a standard WRGB panel. Recommend going with the Samsung, ponying up a bit more for an LG G3 or Sony A95L, or waiting until 2024 when MLA/QD-OLED will start making its way into mid-tier TVs.
I have this TV. It's beautiful. That is all.

If you're a tire kicker you'll figure out a way to kick the tires….and I'll continue to enjoy this TV which I only paid about $150 more for earlier this year.

Sammy refuses to license Dolby Vision, so "better" is subjective. I would argue that Dolby Vision content will look better on the LG. Dolby Vision is the best standard for picture quality and you can't simultaneously claim best picture and refuse to support Dolby Vision.
Hope Samsung will do the correct thing by joining Dolby Vision. Samsung took a decade to join back to OLED, while all those years was against OLED.

I am not tech savvy.... I am looking for 80-85" TV. Ready to pay around 2k$. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I would go with the 85" Sony X90L. Black Friday price is $2,000.

That's why I went with G3 when Black Friday prices hit. There just wasn't enough difference between the A90J I had and the C3 (and perhaps A90J is even a tad better), and the narrowing price difference between C3 and G3 make the G3 more viable IMO.

The C series is in a bit of no-man's land because flagship prices are coming down and Samsung now has QD-OLED on their mid-tier lineup. Perhaps the C series gets a heat sink and the new Alpha processor next year, and they hold MLA for G series for one more year before giving the C series MLA?

That's the move! I recently bought the A90J from that Walmart deal, and I couldn't be happier. It's a huge improvement from my A80J. I also bought the S95B earlier in the year because we needed a brighter TV for our living room. I'm good on OLEDs for a while. I would've loved to buy the G3 or A95K/A95L, but they're way out of my price range.

MLA Technology and QD OLED technology are welcome editions to the OLED family, and I'm curious to see where TV will go in the future. Micro LED won't be affordable for a long time.

It really depends on use case, and more so the pickiness of the user. My parents love their new LG ur8000 86" and honestly I am impressed by the bang for buck they got. $900 for an 86" tv that's rated above 7/10 on rtings is incredible in my opinion.

Granted oled-aholics and younger eyes see value in spending more $, but personally I'm annoyed by vague fearmongering like "not worth hassle!!". 95% of people would love the tv my parents got.

I used to be in the electronic business ..... off the top of my head it has subpar upscaling,(4K content looks OK but cable/satt TV 480p/720p/1080i looks bad)
Low gray uniformity, cd/m² in the low 300s but if your parents like it... More power to them.

Ask anyone in the electronic business if they would purchase a LG TV. They'll answer OLED: Yes LCD/LED NO !!

This tv is amazing but what's more amazing is the panel warranty. Mine started shutting down after 30 minutes and wont start up again in hours and was attributed to bad panel. LG tech replaced the entire panel assembly (glass, frame and all). They literally only had to move the circuit boards and the back cover to the new panel assy.

Tech mentioned it costs more to replace the panel than getting current model tv and I am glad I dont have to worry abt that for another year and a half.
