Probably the most money I've ever saved on Slickdeals was from buying these water detectors. Was sitting on the couch (naturally) and suddenly heard a bunch of noise coming coming from the bathroom. Notifications on my phone started going off. Went in there found a leak where the plumber didn't properly secure the p trap on our new sink and vanity. That one detector saved me a boatload of money. These things work.

no, the old sensors H5054 are only compatible with the old gateway H5040, and the new sensors H5058 are only compatible with the new gateway H5043 unfortunately. (source: have both sets and tried to combine to a single gateway without any success, so running both concurrently.)

Just an FYI, I highly recommend YoLink water leak sensors. They also integrate with many smart home systems, including Home Assistant (natively). Also have quarter mile range. And no maximum in terms of sensors to base.

I love Govee for LED strips and TV backlights, but for water leak sensors, I am firmly in the YoLink camp.

if the concrete beneath these gets wet, but there's not pooling water, will these alert properly? what depth of water is needed?

You need pooling around bottom of the sensor for it alert you. Ill say at least a couple mm of water otherwise it won't go off.

I've had these for over a year now (about 1.5 yrs). Battery life is excellent and still have not needed to replace them. Saved me once for a vacation home/airbnb where the bidet water connector sheared off and caused a major flood.

Just be aware that they are very sensitive - a steamy shower will make the sensor go off and the alarm is piercing. It's annoying but well worth the minor inconvenience.

The cheaper version does not. The more expensive one has an audible alarm. As far as I am concerned, I just bought the newer govee version ( b5043) currently has a $40 off coupon for $20 more than the one on this thread with one extra sensor and long range as well as 2 year battery life vs. 1 year. Worth it to me.

So you don't run into battery life issues on yours? On mine, one of the AAA batteries always dies after 3-4 months.

Not at all, they last a surprisingly long time. Maybe the unit is defective and you can ask for replacement.

These have sensors on top and bottom. So if there is water pooling, even just a little bit, it will go off. On mine, the sensors on top will activate the alarm with a steamy shower as condensation collects on it.

How do you guys deal with the obnoxious low battery alarm that of course always happens in the middle of the night to wake you up? And doesn't turn off with a button press, and you have to find eyeglass screwdriver to remove the 4 tiny screws and remove the batteries?

I haven't seen a way to disable it, and I'm not sure if putting the sensors on "silent" and relying only on push/e-mail notifications for water leakage will actually disable the low battery alarm.
